One day, someone moved during the freeze.

A boy.

Calm. Not surprised. Like he had been waiting.

“You feel it too,” he said.

Sofia stepped back. “Who are you?”

“Someone who knows what you’re becoming.”

He didn’t explain much. Just stayed near her after that — appearing whenever time behaved strangely.

He didn’t treat her like she was weird.

He treated her like she mattered.

And slowly, she realized something she never had before:

She wasn’t alone.
