Shortly after the death of her father, Miriam is offered a job as Italian language teacher in a Canadian High School. Longing to start her new life, she immediately conquers the trust and confidence of her students. She is involuntarily involved in the investigation about a crime: the father of one of her best students is accused of the murder of a colleague in the company managed by the father of another student. The investigation is led by the homicide detective Jason Grant, a reserved man with a dramatic past.
