[{《FICTION》}]
Not a dramatic story about two people hopelessly inlove.
But one sided that just hit too late.
He was careless, but loved his parents deeply.
The type of guy who intrigued you but was non-chalant in every way.
Odette had met Atticus when her family had come over to stay for the summer break.
Her parents had invited Atticus and his parents over to spend time since they were close friends.
Atticus's mother, Julia, had brought many presents for Odette since her mother, Claire, was the younger sister of Atticus's father, Kristen.
While the adults talked, Odette was in her room, playing with the Legos she got.
Atticus strode in and hopped onto the bed beside her casually. And she offered to play.
They built a little house, laughing and giggling.
Something stirred in Odette's chest, a flutter when he laughed or stared too long.
Julia walked in, immediately grinning and she left with a smug look.
Odette and Atticus played, unknown to them the parents watching.
He was sprawled infront of Odette, leaning on his arm as they both built. Serious beyond reason.
After they had left, Odette's mother called her onto bed with her.
Odette eased into the blanket with her mother and hugged her.
Claire told Odette that Atticus had gotten engaged to Lisa, julia's sister in laws daughter.
Odette went quiet, nodding numbly.
Claire told Odette to pray for her to have a nice husband too.
But Odette knew better.
