Edda High School – Episode 2 Selin’s Curiosity and the Moment She Meets Ran Magne held Selin’s hand and walked her back to the classroom. Selin asked in a normal tone: “Who exactly is Fjor Jutul?” Magne narrowed his eyes and exhaled sharply before answering in a warning tone: “Fjor Jutul is the son of Vidar Jutul, the owner of Vidar Petroleum. Thanks to Vidar, Edda is full of polluted air and oil contamination. He built power plants and oil facilities and ruined this town. He became rich because of it. They live in a lodge up in the mountains.” Selin looked at him with curiosity. “So… is Vidar Jutul a good man, or a bad one?” Magne replied suspiciously: “No, I don’t think he’s a good man. I think he’s just as fake as Fjor—only colder, more serious, and more calculated. Unlike Fjor, he doesn’t act recklessly. Vidar manipulates people in a subtler, more strategic way. You should stay away from them. Especially—” Suddenly, an announcement echoed through the hallway: “Ran Jutul, the school counselor, is calling Selin. Please report to her office.” Selin froze in surprise. Magne looked slightly shocked. “She must be calling you. Be careful,” he said quietly. “I’ll be here. And don’t run into Fjor again—he might harass you.” Selin nodded and left the classroom. As she walked down the corridor, she turned a corner and reached a row of blue lockers. The lights flickered on and off. She stepped forward and noticed a door beside the lockers. She entered. Inside stood Ran Jutul. Ran was tall, with blonde hair and blue eyes. She wore a black dress, red high heels, and had a dark complexion. Her hands rested calmly on the desk as Selin entered. Selin turned her head slightly. “Oh—are you Ran Jutul?” Ran smiled politely, her tone gentle but subtly manipulative: “Yes. And you must be Selin, the new student. Welcome to Edda. Have you liked our school so far?” Selin sat down and replied half-jokingly: “Well… the teachers and classes are fine, but the student profile is a bit problematic—especially one boy.” Ran’s smile sharpened just slightly. “Fjor Jutul… bothered a girl like you?” Selin froze. “W-wait—how do you know that?” Ran folded her arms, her tone still kind, but observant: “I saw you and Magne coming down the stairs, and I witnessed Fjor bothering you. I keep a close eye on my students—to make sure they’re safe. Thankfully, you’re alright. Boys like Fjor usually target quiet, calm girls because they believe they’re easier to manipulate. But don’t worry. We will handle Fjor Jutul.” Selin looked stunned. “Really? Wow… I didn’t know I’d be protected so easily. At my old school, I was bullied, psychologically abused, and dehumanized by three boys—and no one protected me. I like that this school has serious protocols.” Ran smiled gently, her tone reassuring yet controlling: “No one will bully or humiliate you here. We are on your side. You are safe at Edda High School. Now, Selin, I’d like to ask you a few questions.” Selin tilted her head curiously. “Questions? Alright.” Ran took out a small notebook. Her voice became soft, hypnotic, yet unsettling. “If a friend shared your secret with someone else, what would you do? Would you leave them, or fight them?” Selin rested her chin on her hand, speaking innocently: “I think… I’d leave them.” Ran nodded and flipped the page. “Next question. If a teacher handed out an exam—would you copy from a friend?” Selin shook her head. Ran turned another page. Her voice darkened. “You’re sitting at the dinner table with your family. Suddenly, a stone is thrown through your window. There’s a note attached. It says there’s a special item on your stove. You go to the kitchen, open it, and find a box. Inside is something you’ve never seen before—a rotting corpse. You vomit. Your face turns pale. When you return to the living room, your family is unconscious. In front of you stands a man with brown hair and brown eyes, wearing a black suit. He smiles at you like a hunter. You faint. When you wake up, you’re imprisoned in a corner. What do you do—do you escape, or fight him?” As Ran spoke, images flooded Selin’s mind. Her eyes went blank. She saw blood on her hands. Her family on the floor. She shuddered. “W-why are you asking this? What’s the reason?” Ran replied calmly: “Just answer the question.” Selin took a deep breath. “I’d break free… and escape.” Ran smiled darkly. “Perfect.” “That’s all. Thank you.” “May I leave?” Selin asked uneasily. “Of course.” Selin left, shaken. As she walked through the hallway, she thought she saw the man again. Her eyes widened. Then—nothing. School had ended. Everyone had left. Even Magne. Selin walked out of the school, down stone steps, and into town. She entered a small shop and opened her arms playfully. “Hey—do you know where my favorite chocolate is?” She bought a Biscolata, paid, and began eating. Then a voice spoke behind her: “Oh… look who we have here. The town’s new little girl.” Edda High School – Episode 3 Meeting Vidar Jutul Selin turned around, surprised. “Wait… you’re the director of the petroleum plant—Vidar Jutul?” Vidar narrowed his eyes. He had straight brown hair, wore a black button-up shirt, black pants, a belt, and black shoes. His tone was calm, cold, and subtly mocking. “I didn’t expect you to recognize me so quickly. Interesting…” He examined her closely. “Hm… you’re quite thin for a girl. The girls around here are usually heavier. You’re the new girl at Edda High School, aren’t you? Let’s see if you’ll adapt.” Selin crossed her arms, anger rising. “Oh really? And you look like—” She smirked cleverly. “A narcissistic boss who deceives people, exploits workers, and destroys lives for profit.” Vidar went silent. Then he spoke, cold and authoritative: “Watch your mouth, little girl. Being too outspoken in this town can be dangerous. Sometimes intelligence leads you to consequences you can’t foresee. You should learn to be political—especially when speaking to someone like me.” Selin smiled provocatively. “I don’t want to respect you.” Vidar blinked. “What?” “I said—I don’t want to respect you. I want to push your limits.” Vidar crossed his arms, warning in his tone: “You teenagers are disrespectful. You’re no different from my son, Fjor. Though you’re more innocent… he’s reckless.” Selin rolled her eyes. “You mean that boy who puts girls on his lap and objectifies them? Don’t worry—I’m better than him. I disturb people with my intelligence. I hold up a mirror. The question is, Vidar—do you look at the mirror, or break it?” Vidar stared at her like a hunter. “You’re very aware. Be careful. Awareness can be swallowed by darkness. Protect the light inside you, little girl.” He turned to leave. “We’ll meet again. And next time—you may not escape death.” – To be continued –9Please respect copyright.PENANA3NLbqBzb1J
