At the lab…the reptilian man begins cloning the twin Peganics to test the cloning technology. He managed to create a duplicate of them but there is an anomaly in the result: Both twins had wings whereas the original twins had one of them lacking wings and both clones had the same eye color as each other.
“Another mistake in the cloning process…how could there’s a mistake in cloning!? This can’t be right!” Dean said in frustration.
He sighs and pinches his nose bridge with his eyes closed.
“There must be a reason why this happened. No matter…Now, you two!” he called them.
The cloned twins focused on him, waiting for his command.
“Amy Symilton’s group of friends are on their way here. I want you to stop them, make sure they never reach this place,” the reptilian man commanded them.
“Yes, sir!” both bowed their head and exit the building through the window nearby.
The reptilian man instantly grabs one of the books and starts looking for a way to fix the cloning problem.
“Where did I go wrong? I must make sure this never happen again,” he said while frantically flipping the pages of the book, trying to find a solution.
At Shaner’s house….Xansel wakes up and see Pandora, June, Zoe, and Stary gathered around him, they had been watching over him for a long time.
“You are awake,” Zoe said
“How do you feel?” Pandora leaned closer and asked him.
“How long have I been unconscious?” Xansel asked Pandora.
“Around 4 days,” Stary answered.
“We brought you here after you were unconscious,” June told Xansel.
Xansel looks down and mutters,” I did something horrifying, didn’t I?”.
“I have been wondering about that…how did you suddenly mutate into a wendigo?” Summoner asked.
Pandora turns his head to Summoner and says,” I don’t think he has the answer to that…”.
He then turns his head to Xansel and asks,” Or do you?”.
Xansel shakes his head.
“I have no answer about it,” he said.
“Either way….I see that it was a temporary mutation…other undead….once it mutates, the mutation is permanent so…,” Summoner said what he is thinking out loud.
Zoe leans his head to the right, his eyes are focusing on Summoner.
“What do you have in mind, Hamish?” he asked the young shaman.
“What do you think?” Summoner dropped his thinking pose and tried to get everyone to guess his intention.
“Don’t tell me you’re thinking of doing “that”, aren’t you?” Pandora asked.
“What are you saying? You know something?” Stary turns to Pandora with confused face.
“Testing….also known as experiment. Hamish wants to test the trigger behind the mutation,” Pandora revealed Summoner’s intention out loud.
“You’re planning to make Xansel mutates into wendigo again?!” June said with a horrified disbelief look on her face.
“If we don’t try, when we confront Dakurona….we won’t have any advantage against him,” Summoner said.
“I’m willing to do it,” Xansel agreed to do it.
“But…what if you’re not reverting back??” June voiced her fear.
“Madam…if we don’t do this, by the time we confront Dakurona, we will be defeated in short time. Anything we have can be used to help us against him later,” Summoner told her.
June holds her anger in and says,”Fine! Let’s do this and finish this quickly. You kids are so reckless” and put a palm on her face in frustration over everyone’s recklessness.
Outside the room, Shaner, Veem, and Chandellor are sitting around the dining table. They see everyone comes out with Xansel who had fully recovered.
“I heard what you are discussing. You want to test Xansel’s mutation?” Veem asked Pandora.
“Yes,” Pandora nods in response.
“Veem! Chandellor! Think you two can join us in this one?” Summoner asked them.
“Of course!” Chandellor said.
“I will watch from afar,” Shaner said
The party waits until the street gone quiet and made Xansel stand in the middle of the empty street, facing Chandellor and Veem while everyone stands from the sideline to watch.
Chandellor has his fire chain whip materializes in his left hand while his right hand carries the arrow tip of the chain. Veem pulls out his rune dagger and bend his back a bit, ready to strike.
“How the hell Chandellor manage to see from that blindfold and move with that strange extravagant chandelier headgear he wore on his head?” Shaner voiced his confusion over Chandellor’s equipment.
“His clan has a peculiar ability to have a range of vision based on the radius size coming from the light of his chandelier. If you for example….walk into the circle range of light emanated from the chandelier headgear he wore, he can instantly tell that you’re there near him and know where you are,” Pandora explained to Shaner about the Chandelor’s ability.
“I don’t understand,” Shaner said.
“You will see soon enough,” Summoner said.
“Are you ready?? Xansel!” Chandellor asked Xansel.
Xansel appears very intense and struggles to keep his composure due to him fearing the risk of the mutation ability he had.
“Yes!!” Xansel said, clear and loud.
Chandellor nods and swing the chain to the undead, aiming at his neck. Xansel avoid it by stepping to the left and Chandellor swings his chain to the side after the tip of his chain lands to the ground besides the undead. The chain wrapped around Xansel’s abdomen area and Chandellor lifts the undead up high then slam him hard to the ground.
“Gh!” Xansel endured the pain and released himself from the chain.
Xansel dashes to Chandellor and attempts to strike his face, Chandellor steps back every time the undead swings his claw aimed at his face. Frustrated, Xansel steps back and casts Phantasmgore, covering the area in darkness much to everyone’s disbelief.
“Phantasmgore! Watch your step and pay attention to the incoming monsters created from the illusion! Some of them can physically hurt or kill you!!” Summoner warned everyone.
Pandora scans the area and successfully determines which illusion is harmless and which illusion is harmful.
“Stay close to me,” he told Shaner.
Shaner stands right behind him and when a grim reaper appears in front of them, Pandora slashes it with a saber materialized from the feature of his mechanical horns. Meanwhile…Stary stands besides Zoe and cast homing stellar shot on every incoming monster and dangerous objects generated by the illusion, destroying them. Zoe notices one illusion entity, unharmed by the Cosmo magic and slashes it in half. Xansel uses the illusion as distraction and attempt to attack Chandellor from behind. When he is within the light radius circle emitted from the young man’s chandelier headgear, Chandellor instantly turns his eyes to the presence behind him and smack Xansel with a swing of his chain much to Xansel’s surprise.
“Wow! You’re right, Pandora. He really can see where Xansel is when he steps into the circle of light from the chandelier he wore on his head,” Shaner said with amazed look on his face after seeing Chandellor hit Xansel despite the young man wearing blindfold in the fight.
While Xansel sent midair, Veem stab his rune dagger onto the undead’s diaphragm area and nearly cut him in two after forcing the rune dagger to slash through from the middle area.
“Aghh!!” Xansel screamed from the pain and his body land to the ground.
Xansel looks at the bloodied hand after he touched the bleeding wound and notices that he feels no reaction from the heavy wound.
“No reaction…Pandora! I’m not wounded enough!” he called the Andromeda from afar.
“Alright then…my turn! Step aside, you two!” Pandora told Chandellor and Veem to back away.
Pandora readies his arsenal and materializes his single saber which he then manually split in two, making both pieces grew a blade on both sides.
“This is going to be fatal. Cross Pincer!” he slashed Xansel in scissor motion before he then slashes upward in x motif.
“Graaaahh!!!!” Xansel screamed so loud from the pain and nearly faints.
“Any reaction?” Summoner asked and squats in front of dying Xansel to see if there’s any reaction.
“Ugh….at this rate, I’m gonna die temporarily before getting up again if nothing happened,” Xansel pointed out the unexpected result.
After he said that, he suddenly feel what seemingly a terrible heart attack and he had an erratic behavior followed by what seem to be gasping for air, both hand gripping his throat so hard as he horribly mutated into a gruesome beast with his outer skin forcibly retract inside, making his internal organs exposed and hanging with exposed ribcage. Some white furs grew from his back and thorny antlers forcefully grow from his head, his teeth enlarges into dirty big fangs of a beast.
“There it is,” Summoner said.
“So the reaction is late??” Pandora said in shock at the result.
“Either way, now we know how the mutation work,” Zoe told him and pulls out his beam saber.
Pandora tries to scan Xansel’s wendigo form only for the AI to fail determining its weakness.
“A.I.A can’t scan it at all,” he said.
As everyone tried to attack Wendigo, Pandora hear a low-voiced whisper in his ear.
“I hear something, who’s there?” he look around and something entered him, turning his red eyes into blue.
Inside, a spirit appears in front of him. It has the appearance of Symilton.
“Is that you?” Pandora asked as he extends his hand to it.
The spirit reveals itself as a tall long brown haired male demon with blue eyes and dragon wings.
“Yo, this is the first time we meet each other,” the demon said
“Who are you? Are you the one who whispered to me?” Pandora asked him
“I am. I am Fyre the Flame Executioner, I used to accompany your close friend on her journey in defeating Dakurona,” the demon introduced himself.
“Close friend? You know Amy Symilton?” Pandora asked him.
“I do, I have been by her side for a long time. Alas, when we defeated Dakurona, we were kidnapped by hands originated from the darkness,” Fyre said.
“Tell me what happened. Are you saying that Xansel was one of the people who joined her too?” Pandora asked him.
“Xansel used to follow her on her journey. And yes, he is also one of the people kidnapped. I will tell you who was with Symilton and kidnapped by Dakurona,” Fyre said.
“Give me the names of everyone who got kidnapped along with her,” Pandora said.
“Symilton, Len, Husky, Platinum, Cheyenne…” Fyre said and Pandora suddenly interrupt him,” The entire gang!?” then Fyre put both hands back and forth.
“Easy there, I wasn’t done yet. Yes her entire group of best friends. The Harodan twins Zeke and Sieg, Xansel, , Will Wolferian, Durabel cause he was residing in Platinum as companion, Devil cause he was residing in Cheyenne as companion, and Undead because he was spiritually residing in Zeke. Her group of best friends and the 4 who joined her including Xansel here, kidnapped by Dakurona,” Fyre listed the entire member of Symilton’s party who got kidnapped.
“Where are they now?” Pandora asked.
“There’s a hidden lab somewhere in this state, find it and you will find them. They’re confined in a laboratory capsule full of sedative water, Dakurona had been trying to use our gene to create a clone of us,” Fyre told him.
“He managed to create an android copy of Symilton. Our entire journey had been filled with nothing but taking care of his assassins from both Faury and here,” Pandora said.
“I fear…he already successfully clones one or two of her friends as we speak,” Fyre said.
He then disappears and leaves an echoing voice in Pandora’s spiritual realm.
“Now that Xansel is fully free after I helped him escape and now with you, I will be staying here and watch over you. I am now by your side, ready to help when you need me,” he said
Pandora hears the parting word and looks down before he regain his senses in reality and sees that Xansel already back in his normal state.
“What happened?” Pandora asked.
“Somehow…he was covered in light blue light and we see him back to normal and unconscious, fully healed,” Summoner said.
“What happened to you? You look like you were lost in thought earlier,” Shaner asked Pandora about his behavior earlier of not moving for an hour while everyone fights wendigo.
“A spirit whispered to me and said that he will help me,” Pandora told Shaner.
“A spirit? Is it Devil?” Summoner asked.
“No…it’s Fyre,” Pandora answered.
“Fyre…he is the demon companion of Symilton. He has been with her for the entire journey. What did he say?” Summoner asked Pandora.
“He said something about a hidden lab and our friends are there, confined. He said that Dakurona is trying to make a clone from their gene,” Pandora said.
“Considering the android we saw several days ago, who look very similar to Symilton….I’m not surprised that he intends to do that from the very beginning,” Zoe said.
