Do we really know the Lord like we think we do? Yeah, we know that He can bless us, we know that He has power, and that He loves us. But do you really know the Lord?
Did you know that the Lord has emotions? The Bible talks about how He loves, how He hates, what makes Him sad and what makes Him happy. In Genesis 1:27 (KJV) that man was made in God’s image. That means we have emotions because the Lord has them too!
The Lord wants a relationship with you and wants us to get to know Him. He wants to talk to us, just like any kind of friendship would. He wants to be a Father to us. All He is asking is that we put Him on the throne of our hearts rather than ourselves.
In knowing the Lord and surrendering our old ways to Him, we see the beauty of the Lord and who He is. The Lord is not a vending machine. He is far more vast than we can comprehend.
If you don’t have a relationship with Him, study, pray, and seek Him with all your heart. Tell Him, “Lord, I want to get to know You.” In drawing closer to Him, He will draw closer to you, James 4:8 (KJV).

Mathew 5: 43–48 KJV
43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
