I got up from the soft, comfortable couch with a low groan. I limped all the way to the huge pantry in my two-story house to get another bag of the Xtra-Large Mega chips. Normally Mom doesn’t really let me eat much junk or unhealthy food, but there’s an exception this time. Mom, Dad and my two sisters were off on a long road trip to visit Mom’s aunt, Stephanie, and only my fractured leg had gotten me out of going with them. It did hurt a great deal, but I was pleased I didn’t have to go to great aunt Stephanie’s.64Please respect copyright.PENANADs1LOsvWpY
Great aunt Stephanie’s one of those aunts who squeeze the life out of you in hugs as soon as they see you, and cover your face in flaming red lipstick marks from all the kisses they plaster on your face. She also has a cat (Bella)—the grumpiest creature I’ve ever seen. Bella is just evil. If you look into her eyes, it’s enough to give you nightmares. So visits to great aunt Stephanie aren’t a lot of fun.
I sat back on the couch and chewed slowly on a cumin and lemon chip. I was watching a horror movie about a girl who was home alone. Probably not the wisest thing to do, but it was too late to stop now.
Just then I decided to check my mobile phone. I slipped it out of my pocket. 55 missed calls from Mom?! 47 from Dad?! Oh no… I had accidentally turned on silent mode and I was too busy watching the movie… They’d be worried sick!
