Darkness.
That was the first thing I felt.
My hands and legs were tightly bound to a chair. I struggled, twisting my wrists and kicking instinctively, but the restraints wouldn’t budge. Panic crept into my chest. My breath grew heavier.
Beside me sat Harshath and Siddhu.
They were tied just like me—motionless, helpless. Each of them wore a strange helmet, something that looked like a mix of VR glasses and a military device. Thick wires ran from the sides, disappearing behind the chair.
I lowered my head—and that’s when I saw it.
The same helmet lay shattered beneath my legs.
Broken. Lifeless.
That’s when it hit me.
This was all a game.
An illusion.
A fabricated world designed to trap us.
Before I could process it fully, a sharp click echoed in the room. The cuffs around my wrists suddenly loosened and fell open. Then the restraints on my legs released as well.
Freedom.
I stood up instantly, my heart racing, and rushed to Harshath and Siddhu, undoing their restraints as fast as I could. The moment they were free, they ripped off their helmets, their eyes wide with shock—mirroring my own.
None of us spoke.
Then, slowly, the door in front of us opened.
No warning. No sound.
Just an open path—like an invitation.
Or a trap.
“It’s like someone’s helping us,” Siddhu whispered.
We didn’t wait to question it.
We ran.
Out of the room. Down the corridor. Through the exit.
Just before stepping outside, something made me stop. I turned back and noticed a CCTV camera mounted high in the corner, its red light blinking calmly—as if it had been watching us this whole time.
Whoever was behind this… they were still watching.
Anger surged through me. I raised my hand and showed my middle finger straight at the camera.
“Game over,” I muttered.
We rushed down the stairs and burst out of the building.
It was the same building we had entered at the very beginning.
Our bike was still there—untouched.
We didn’t think twice.
The engine roared to life as we sped away. The moment we reached the main road—
BOOM.
A deafening explosion ripped through the night.
We skidded to a halt and turned around just in time to see the building collapse into itself, flames and smoke swallowing it whole. A bomb.
That place was never meant to let anyone out alive.
We stood there, frozen, watching the ruins burn.
Confused. Shaken. Silent.
Eventually, we decided to head home. We needed answers—but first, we needed safety.
When I finally reached my house, the clock read 3:00 a.m.
We had only been in that world for a few hours.
Yet it felt like days.
My body was exhausted, but my mind refused to rest. None of us could understand how we escaped… or who helped us… or why the building was destroyed the moment we left.
As I stood near the door, lost in thought—
Knock.
My heart skipped a beat.
Someone was standing outside.
