The group ran outside, the Snallygaster close behind.
"Gah!"
Cormac was stabbed by the Snallygaster's beak in the hip. The Snallygaster stood over Cormac, who was bleeding on the ground. It stared at Cormac, and Cormac stared at it.
The Snallygaster shrieked and flew back. Tatum had shot it with his Colt Peacemaker. He shot, again and again, bullet after bullet, piercing the Snallygaster's hide. He stopped. He kept trying to shoot, but nothing came out.
"You're...out...of...ammo." Cormac wheezed as he crawled away.
"G*mes!"
The Snallygaster reared back at Tatum and stabbed his head with its beak and his crotch with its stinger.
"HOLY ASTOLFO TATUM JUST DIED! G*MES G*MES G*MES G*MES!" Levi screamed.
The Snallygaster tore Tatum apart, and the rest of the group kept running, with Cormac being carried on Gwendolen's back. As they kept running, the police finally arrived. At least, one did. Opal stepped out of the car with her Glock. The four other officers did the same, and as they did, they saw the group running to another building.
"FREEZE!" Opal yelled at them. Then, she saw it. The Snallygaster. It stopped running and paused. It crooked its neck towards the officers. It unfurled its wings and leaped at them. The police shot in surprise as it landed on Opal. It raised its neck up, and with one great thrust, it shot its beak through her head. It got temporarily stuck in the ground, so it pulled it out quickly to face the other officers. They all shot at him, and as the group ran off, they heard the screams of officers, replaced then by the shrieks of the Snallygaster.
