To anybody on the outside,
I have been making art long before I got into high school. Back then, I didn't own a drawing tablet, all I had was an art program and a mouse. I made a lot of covers for stories I had at the time, but I deleted the stories due to how sloppy they were.
Celestial Stairway wasn't my first story. Echo, the main character, had a five book series telling his origin story, and even before that, there was 'The Cherry Tree'. So, why did I delete all this progress?
The Cherry Tree took place in a city named Selonika, and the story was about a violinist, who sat under a cherry blossom tree, and a boy who lost his memory. As I finished the third chapter and fell asleep that day, I had a dream. I was in Selonika, except there was no one in sight.
The dream was not lucid, but it was very vivid. I walked into Selonika's library, repeating a single word, 'Somnium'. I found a book, whose title I cannot remember, and opened it. That was when I saw a blurred map with a few words, and one of them was Selonika.
When I woke up that next day, I noted down the dream on a piece of paper, and as I was about to create the next chapter, I realized what 'Somnium' really meant. Selonika was a city inside the world of Somnium.
Selonika was a city I dreamed about, and now its real form appeared within a dream as well. After this point, I witnessed what I like to call, episodic dreams. I was myself in these dreams, still not lucid, watching this world's history play out, almost like I was watching a tv show.
I don't have these dreams anymore; there were only seven of them, and they told me all I needed to know. Nowadays, they just appear in my head, like a creative thought, maybe they really are thoughts, or perhaps... someone or something might be sending them to me... through the radio waves.
Dream Deep Dweller,
The Radio Child
