When me and my editor Tammy Welsh first got into writing YA novels, we were always getting together with ideas. We finally decided on a genre: romance. This book is actually the first book we wrote together.  


Dissonant Hearts is a romance YA novel about Maddie and Caden, who are in the 9th grade (first year of high school). Maddie is in orchestra and plays cello, and Caden is in band, who plays trombone. 

At their school there is a 'rule' that everyone is accustomed to. Band kids and orchestra kids hate each other.

But when Maddie and Caden met everything changed for them.
