I was sitting at this counter ready to fall asleep. I have been working so hard and all I wanted was to close my eyes for more then a few hours but bills had to get paid. I hated working at this gas station at night. It's been robbed twice since I started working here and then men that come in here are even worse. The other night when Malik was waiting for me and I got to feed him was nice. He and I talked all night until I fell asleep. When I woke up he was gone. I don't know what I was expecting but it would've been nice if he called me or something. I don't know what it was but he made me feel safe. I never felt that before. I know he was older but shit I was grown and he peaked my interest. I don't know what it was about him but I wanted him to protect me.
"Hey pretty mama." I heard Malik say from behind me.
"Malik hey." I said.
"How you feeling lil baby?" He asked.
"Tired. I got eight more hours and then I can go to sleep." I laughed.
"Look like you barely hanging on tonight you good?" He asked concerned.
"Yeah just tired it's been a long week." I laughed.
"You ever need a break for a few days let me know. I know a place that's perfect for relaxing." He said.
"I wish I could but I can't afford to relax right now between school and my bills I work every chance I get."
"Send me a price and I'll pay that shit just to spend a few days with you." He said.
"Why?" I asked.
"Shit I don't even know baby girl just wanna get to know you that's all." He said.
"How about dinner Saturday. I'm not going away with you I barely know you and if I go missing nobody will report it." I laughed.
"Dinner Saturday night. I got you pick you up around 5 and where something comfortable." He said.
"You need my number don't you?" I asked.
"For what I know where you stay baby. I know how to find you. Get some rest love because Saturday it's me and you." He said and winked at me.
