We watched as the L-class rover beneath us was getting closer to the Amundsen crater. We saw the Russian Moon Base along the way as we were chasing the enemy. As we were preparing to land, I noticed a rocket waiting in the Amundsen crater. If we don't act fast, Dawn will escape with the other villains.16Please respect copyright.PENANAklTJyxetO4
It was challenging to pick a landing spot due to the lack of a large, flat piece of land, so we had to improvise. Our landing area was a bit bumpy, but we didn't crash. We left the spaceplane and jumped into the crater right as Dawn's rover became visible for us. Unfortunately, she wasn't alone. The other enemy agents emerged from the rocket, armed to the teeth. We were in for a tough fight.
The first attacker was Rill Gomana. He had swapped out his old-school rifle for an actual laser blaster and nearly shot Amber. Luckily, she jumped away at the last moment as the pellet blew up some rocks in the distance. He jumped and tried to crush us. I pushed Claudius away and tried to run myself, but ended up bunny-hopping away from Rill. Claudius tumbled, but eventually got up to deal with a guy we didn't recognise. Rill aimed at me but I dodged his shot, which ended up blowing off a piece of metal from the rocket. Suddenly, I heard a mechanical voice through my radio.
- OXYGEN DEPLETING: 75% LEFT. PLEASE RESUPPLY - It said. I noticed that someone had cut the elastic pipe that connected my oxygen tank to my helmet. I had to hold my breath, which wasn't easy.
As I turned around, I saw Alia going around with a dagger, cutting other peoples' pipes. Einstein was the only one with an untapped oxygen supply. He pushed the woman away before she could grab him. With our air depleting, we wouldn't stand a chance against the enemy agents. Moreover, we were in the middle of nowhere, so no one could come and save us.
- Go get the spare tanks from the spaceplane! I'll hold them off! - Einstein exclaimed. With no relief in sight, we complied. Vincent joined Einstein in the fight, as he was good at holding his breath.
Along the way, we had to deal with another attacker: Leonid. He had two laser blasters and was firing recklessly. It was very difficult to avoid his shots, especially with a headache and chest pain caused by the lowered oxygen level.
- 50% LEFT: PLEASE RESUPPLY IMMEDIATELY! - the mechanical voice's tone was worrying enough on its own. Jeff leapt on Leonid, trying to knock him over. Leonid was briefly startled, but quickly got up and fired. Jeff ducked and managed to avoid the pellet of light, but it was increasingly harder for him to catch his breath. We were also suffering. The spaceplane was our last hope, and it was getting closer.
- It's my turn to win! - Leonid exclaimed triumphantly. However, his joy distracted him from us. Amber jumped and kicked him. He fell over and dropped one of his blasters. The other one flew away, meaning that he was disarmed. He tried to punch us, but failed, except for slightly nudging Sebastian. We entered the plane.
I instantly opened the door to the emergency supply room and grabbed some spare oxygen tanks. We swapped ours with them and came back out. Without his blasters, Leonid was defenceless. He was quickly retreating into the rocket.
- You will not bring me down, glubby Americans! - he shouted upon reaching the vehicle.
We noticed that Vincent managed to disarm Alia and was now chasing her. However, she grabbed a moon rock and threw it at him, making him stumble. Claudius and Amber went on to clobber Rill, preventing him from attacking Sebastian and me. While all of this was happening, I heard a familiar sound behind me. As I realised what it was, I lunged at Sebastian and pushed him away. Dawn was trying to run us over with her rover, but we dodged her first attack. She was preparing for her second attempt. Her rover was like a bull, with us being the bullfighters. She charged at us and we dodged her again. This process repeated a few times until I noticed Leonid's missing laser blaster lying nearby. I instantly knew what to do with it.
I grabbed the weapon and fired at the tyres of Dawn's rover, popping them. The vehicle flipped over and Dawn quickly left. She ran for the rocket along with the others. I thought about shooting her, but I was hesitant for two reasons: firstly, I could miss and hit one of my allies and secondly, I wasn't keen on killing. Luckily, a new idea surfaced in my head. I shot the ground beneath Dawn, catapulting her and a lot of dust and rocks into the air. She didn't have control over her fall and landed in Sebastian's hands.
He gripped onto her, making sure that she won't escape, but to an outsider, it looked like a hug. I guess Sebastian was still conflicted when it came to his feelings. Either way, he didn't let go.
- Let me go, idiot! - Dawn screamed at him.
- Never! - Sebastian hissed back.
I noticed that a disarmed Rill ran away into the rocket with Leonid and the unknown man. The hatch closed, and the rocket took off without Dawn.
- Look what you've done, you morons...! - Dawn was obviously fuming. At the very least, we captured the mole, even if we let the others run away. I watched as the rocket got smaller and smaller and eventually vanished far away. However, there was something far more concerning nearby. Einstein was unconscious, with his helmet cracked.
The other members of unit 208 checked his pulse, confirming that he was alive.
- His oxygen level is extremely low. We need to bring him to the plane as quickly as possible! - Lauren exclaimed. She and Jeff grabbed Einstein, while Sebastian, Claudius and Vincent took care of a tugging Dawn. Amber and I went by their sides, carrying laser blasters in an unintentionally menacing manner.
As we came back aboard, Jeff swapped out Einstein's oxygen tank and helmet for new ones. After that, Lauren reanimated our caretaker and we watched her anxiously. After a few minutes of deep concern, Einstein slowly woke up, trying to catch his breath.
- Ein... Edward, your alive! - We all rejoiced.
- Children...! You saved me...! - Einstein was overwhelmed by everything that happened - Thank you!
- No problem. It's our job - We smiled.
- Oh, they didn't kill him? What a pity... - Dawn sighed, referring to the other villains. She was met with venomous glances from everyone, myself included.
- You captured her? That's great! - Einstein smiled.
- Yes, we did, but the others escaped in a rocket. We don't know where they're heading... - Vincent added.
- We'll track them down later on. For now, let's get out of here. It's time to interrogate our prisoner - Einstein replied.
- Oh dear... - Dawn sighed again.
