CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE
Anita had no idea what to say, she looked at her son in tears, she walked towards him and hugs him tightly.
Her hug was all he needed, he cried silently, his dad was there still in shock and in tears, he sits carefully, all this while he thought his son was being stupid over a soulmate, he never knew... he never... knew his son's life was attached to this soulmate of his.
After hours of crying and silent...
"What do we do?" Anita asked her husband who looked at her in confusion.
"We can't let V die." Anita pointed out.
He had no idea what to say to her, he tried to open his mouth but couldn't.
"Mum, I should leave now." V said rising on his feet, he had made up his mind to leave earlier and that he wanted to do. He was tired, he had gone through hell in the name of an heir, he wanted peace.
"V, you don't have to leave, everything is sorted out now." Anita said
"I... just can't stay here anymore." V said, his eyes were red.
"Son, I know you are angry at me and want to leave because of what I have done to you. I am sorry." He said
"I don't need your apologies, I will leave anyways." V said turning around to leave but then his mum holds his right-hand and pleads, "please, don't go. Let's sort this out as a family, please don't go."
"Mum, I am sorry but I am tired and I want a break." V said and takes her hand off his, he beckons his friend and they both leave.
Anita turns to her husband and asks him, "are you happy now? You finally drove our son away!"
"I am sorry."
"You are sorry, you are sorry, that's all you can say." She was already crying again.
"I had no idea his life was attached to his soulmate, if... if I knew I would have helped him rather than make his life a hell. I only wanted to protect him." He said in tears.
"From what?" Anita asked
"You can't understand." He replied
"Why can't I?" Anita asked
"You just can't." Was all he could say, rising on his feet and climbing the stairs, going straight towards his room.
Anita watched him in tears, in confusion, in wonder.
"What is he hiding?" She whispered to herself.

"Boss, you have to hide your pride and apologize if you want her to help finish this project as early as possible." His P.A whispered, he grumbled, they were in front of her office.
"Boss, let's go in." His P.A whispered
"I don't want to." Zhao whispered
"Boss, do you want to see Simi or not?"
Zhao grumbled like a child and frowned his face, he knocks as if he wanted to break the door into pieces.
"Boss." He cautions him
"Come in." They heard her voice.
Zhao refuses to open the door, instead his P.A did it, they enter her office calmly.
There she was crying and drinking.
"Feng, are you ok?" Zhao asked
"No... I am not." She cried
Zhao sighed, he couldn't believe he was doing this, he sits next to her and says, "I am very sorry for all I did to you."
"You broke me, how could you think that, I could be selfish and hurt you." She cried
"I am sorry, please. I had no idea you were innocent, please just let this go and help me finish this project as early as possible." Zhao pleaded
"Why are you desperate? Is it because the woman you are engaged to?"
"100% true." Zhao replied and Feng bit her lips in anger but she was careful enough not to make it too obvious.
"Please help me."
"On one condition." She said
"What is that?" Zhao asked
"You will be my friend and you will make me your groom bestie on your wedding day." She said with a smile.
"Oh... well, ok, if that's what you want." Zhao said firmly, all that mattered to him was Simi.
"You can leave now, we will continue from where we stopped in the project tomorrow." She said firmly
"Ok." Zhao smiled and leaves with his P.A.
Immediately, they were gone, she smirked, she picks up her call and says, "thank you for taking the blame, don't worry I will find a way to get you out, my beautiful secretary."
