That night, the sky draped the capital in a blanket of pitch-black darkness.143Please respect copyright.PENANAu0FGMc9Wy0
Inside an abandoned office building, the secret agents of the Youth and Young Adult Bureau were ready to carry out their mission, after one of their spies had reported the location of Kania—the traitor who had been tracked down.
At the command headquarters of the Youth and Young Adult Bureau, the director stood before a massive screen, surrounded by digital maps streaming live footage from insect-shaped drones flying all over the abandoned building undetected.
In front of the director, the monitors displayed various angles of the scene, delivering live and strategic information that was crucial.
“We’ll split into four teams! North team, south team, east team, and west team!” The director gave instructions with a firm yet calm voice.
“Understood!”
Each team leader replied in unison. Their roles had already been determined before deployment.
“Make sure to secure every exit in that old building. You must also be prepared for any possibilities. And don’t forget—be cautious of any traps they may have set.”
Communication earpieces were already in every agent’s ear. They listened closely to the director’s orders while preparing their own equipment.
Lilis and Nina were assigned to the north team along with several other young agents. They began moving carefully, mindful of every step as they advanced through the dark and silent hallways.
Their heartbeats pounded in their ears, especially as they drew near the center of the building.
Bang!
One of the agents accidentally triggered a trap set within the old building.
The young agent was injured, blood gushing from his leg. The bureau’s medical team immediately rushed to get him treated and save his life.
“Stay focused, Lilis. Watch your step,” Nina whispered while gripping her pistol tightly.
“I know. This place is riddled with deadly traps.”
Meanwhile, on the second floor of the building, Kania and Rega were monitoring the secret agents’ movements through a wall of screens.
Kania, who had regained consciousness an hour earlier, stood glaring at the monitors that showed the advancing bureau agents. Each display captured their relentless push forward.
She also noticed that not many of them were being caught by traps or injured—likely the younger recruits who had recently joined the bureau.
“Damn it! Why is everything turning out like this?!” Kania muttered, biting her lip until it nearly bled.
Her sharp gaze pierced the monitors. The building she and Rega occupied was now completely surrounded, with no way out.
“Don’t worry, Kania,” Rega said as he straightened his suit. “We’ll get out of here soon, and then we can finally live peacefully after all this is over.”
“You’re not joking, are you, Rega?”
“Of course not. The information about the secret bureau you gave me will be worth a fortune to the higher-ups. I’ve already made preparations for everything once this business is finished.”
Kania nodded, though in her heart, a deep unease gnawed at her.
Rega’s calm face stood before her that night, but there was something in his demeanor that filled Kania with dread and anxiety.
Not long after, the sound of gunfire erupted from the first floor. The reinforcements brought in by Rega’s so-called “superior” were now clashing with the bureau agents.
The guards and mercenaries on the ground floor fought desperately against the highly trained bureau operatives, who rivaled elite national soldiers.
Amid the chaos, Rega told Kania that he intended to go down and assist his men in fighting the agents.
But it was all just a pretext. In truth, Rega had already prepared an escape route through the underground chamber—a passage known only to him and his personal guards.
In the midst of the turmoil, Rega managed to flee, carrying with him the book that contained information about the bureau where Kania once belonged before her betrayal.
For a while, Kania tried to reach Rega, desperate to confirm he was safe—but there was no answer.
“Damn it! He’s not answering… did he die down there?” she spat bitterly.
A twisted smile of frustration and anger tugged at her lips. Regret seeped into her chest.
“How could I be so utterly stupid? Trusting a man I just met a few days ago… and betraying the bureau I was sworn to protect?”
As the bureau teams pressed deeper into the building, Kania hurled several grenades toward them on the first floor, then quickly retreated back to her room.

Boom!
“Fall back! This place is rigged with traps and explosives!”
The grenades Kania had thrown forced several agents to retreat in formation, convinced the area was laced with countless hazards.
Yet, Lilis and Nina pressed on, carefully maneuvering through the chaos as they pushed toward the second floor.
Their persistence paid off. The second floor was eerily silent, unlike the trap-riddled, chaotic first floor guarded by Rega’s men.
“There!” Nina pointed toward a slightly open door glowing with light. “That has to be their command center.”
Both women approached, pistols ready in their hands. Lilis and Nina exchanged glances, signaling each other to stay alert.
With her breath held, Lilis pushed the door open with her foot, prepared for anything inside.
Creak!
The moment the door swung open, they were immediately met with a hail of bullets fired from straight ahead.
Lilis and Nina dove for cover behind the wall. This time, adrenaline coursed fiercely through their veins.
Inside the room stood a beautiful young woman with long violet hair tied back. Her hair gleamed under the neon lights and the monitors’ glow.
It was Kania.
Her lovely face and large eyes radiated determination, though tinged with fatigue and bitterness.
The tight black uniform of the bureau clung to her slender frame, projecting the image of someone both seasoned and formidable.
In her hands, Kania held two pistols—each aimed directly at Lilis and Nina. A thin smile graced her lips, as if she relished this confrontation.
“You arrived sooner than I expected.”
A heavy silence fell, as though time itself had stopped between the three of them.
