“Good morning!” greeted Lilis, the beautiful bespectacled girl with long black hair flowing freely down her back.
She stepped into the convenience store where she worked, her footsteps light and cheerful.
“Yo, Lilis. Morning,” replied Nina, a short-haired silver beauty whose bangs covered half of her face.
She was busy counting bills at the cashier’s desk, her cold expression showing just how focused she was on her work.
Then, from the staff room, another girl emerged. She looked mature, her elegant face framed by long blue hair styled into neat curtain bangs that gave off a graceful aura.
Her uniform was different marking her as the leader of this convenience store. “Lilis, your work last night got noticed by the higher-ups. They said you set a new record for ‘cleaning’ less than seven minutes.”
“Hoo!” Nina clapped her hands, a rare smile flickering on her lips. “As expected from our role model, Lilis!”
Lilis scratched her cheek shyly. “Come on, guys… I was just doing my assignment. That’s all.”
“No, Lilis!” the blue-haired girl insisted. “You’re officially one of the best in the organization now.”
“A-Ahh, Captain Lisa, please don’t say it like that…” Lilis’s cheeks burned bright red as she fidgeted.
“But it’s true, right Nina?” Lisa turned to the cashier.
Nina nodded without hesitation. “Yeah, no doubt about it. Oh, and according to the Director, you’re getting a bonus for ‘cleaning up’ that rat from the tourism bureau last night in under seven minutes. So, tonight you’re treating us to fried spicy chicken, got it?”
“H-Hah?!” Lilis’s eyes went wide. “Fried chicken?!”
Lisa and Nina burst into laughter at her dumbfounded reaction.
“Yep. You heard that right. Fried chicken!” Lisa grinned brightly.
“Good grief… You two are impossible.” Lilis let out a small laugh. “Fine, fine. But don’t order too much, okay?”
Their laughter echoed in the store, the morning atmosphere warm and filled with cheer.
To anyone else, they looked like ordinary girls enjoying their friendship at a humble convenience store. But behind the shelves and cash registers, they were secret agents tasked with ‘cleaning up’ corrupt politicians.
Lisa, the ever-composed captain, had the natural charisma of a leader. Though strict at times, she knew how to lighten the mood when her team needed it.
Nina, with her striking silver hair, was the calm, analytical type. She might seem cold, but in critical situations, her sharp mind was indispensable.
And then there was Lilis. With her unassuming demeanor and quiet intelligence, she was the most dependable of them all. Her natural beauty, paired with her round glasses, only added to her aura of strength and reliability—even if she never admitted it herself.
Together, the three of them formed a perfect balance. The store was merely their cover. In reality, they were heroes fighting in the shadows.
That bright morning, their banter fueled them with the energy to face whatever mission awaited.
“Alright, finish your snack, Lilis. We need to open the store soon,” Lisa said with a soft smile.
“That’s right. And don’t forget… fried chicken tonight,” Nina added flatly, though her sharp gaze made it sound more like a command.
“Yeah, yeah. Fried chicken for everyone,” Lilis replied with a tired but amused smile.
But just as she set up the promotional boards outside, the cheerful air turned heavy.
The usual bustle of morning customers disappeared. The street grew eerily silent.
From a narrow alley, three tattooed men appeared. Their faces were hidden under masks and caps as they closed in on Lilis, dragging her roughly back into the store.
“Wha—?!” Lilis gasped, her back hitting the freezer as two of them shoved her against it.
Lisa and Nina froze by the cashier, their eyes sharp but their bodies still, unsure what move to make.
The leader of the group—a man in a black leather jacket, a dragon tattoo snaking across his arm—leaned closer, his sharp eyes locking onto Lilis’s.
Her breath hitched as his hand slowly reached into his pocket.
Gulp.
Her heart raced, fear creeping into her chest, but she refused to let it show.
And then—
Pop!
A deafening burst shattered the silence. Confetti sprayed everywhere in a colorful shower.
“…Hah?” Lilis blinked, stunned.
The three so-called thugs erupted in loud laughter.
“Congratulations, Lilis!” the dragon-tattooed man shouted, holding up the sparkling party popper.
Lisa pinched the bridge of her nose while Nina sighed audibly.
“…Seriously, Orlan. Did you have to?” Lisa muttered in exasperation.
“This squad is insane,” Nina deadpanned.
Indeed, it was none other than the notorious Orlan and his crew, known for their outrageous ‘celebrations.’
“Who would’ve thought our junior here would set a new record for fastest ‘cleaning’?” Orlan grinned, pulling off his mask, cap, and even the fake tattoo. Underneath was a handsome blond man with an easy smile.
“And not just that,” Dinan, his partner, added with mock drama. “Behind those cute glasses, lies the most terrifying cleaner in the entire agency, Lilis!”
“Hahahaha!” Zack, the third member, laughed as he handed Lilis a thick black envelope. “From the Director. Enjoy yourself before the ban hammer comes down!”
The three stormed out as quickly as they came, leaving the store littered with confetti.
“…This is insane,” Lisa muttered, shaking her head as Lilis opened the envelope.
“H-Holy crap! This is… so much money!” Lilis gasped, eyes wide.
Lisa and Nina exchanged a look, both equally annoyed and amused.
“Only Orlan’s group could throw a surprise party like this,” Lisa groaned.
Finally, Lisa chuckled and teased, “Lilis, you’re not just a record-breaker, you’re a magnet for chaos.”
Nina smirked faintly. “We’ll celebrate properly tonight. Fried chicken’s still on, right?”
Exhausted but smiling, Lilis nodded. “Yeah… fried chicken, for sure. But next time, I’m putting a ban on surprise parties.”
