The air was electric the moment the pyro exploded across the arena, officially signaling the start of SummerSlam Night 1. I stood at ringside, my arms folded across my chest but my eyes locked on the entrance ramp. Roman Reigns and Jey Uso were making their entrance, and even though I tried to stay cool, I could feel a small, proud smile pulling at my lips as I watched Jey yeeting through the WWE Universe down to the ring, as usual. I couldn’t help but smile. Jey had become one of my closest friends in this wild world of WWE—someone I could count on, someone who, alongside Cody, stood by me during my lowest and backed me during my highest. So when I heard he’d be opening the show in a tag match, I told him I’d be there. And I meant it.
Breakker and Reed were already in the ring, looking like two ticking time bombs just waiting for the bell. The second it rang, the chaos began. Roman and Jey kicked things off with a vengeance. Jey moved like lightning—sharp strikes, clean footwork, pure energy. Roman, all power and control, had that usual deadly calm about him. But it wasn’t long before things took a turn. Reed blindsided Jey during a rebound, and Breakker took advantage, cornering him in the far turnbuckle while mocking Roman with taunts and smirks. “C’mon, Uce!” I shouted from ringside, gripping the barricade. “You got this!”
Jey gritted his teeth as he was tossed around, but the fire in his eyes didn’t dim. Breakker and Reed kept Roman out of the match, cutting the ring in half like textbook tag team strategists. It was brutal watching them isolate Jey, punishing him while Roman stood on the apron, visibly fuming, pacing like a caged animal. Then the momentum shifted. Reigns finally got the tag—and all hell broke loose. He launched himself over the top rope like a missile, crashing into both Breakker and Reed with the kind of force that made the whole ring quake. The crowd roared as he popped up, ready for more. Breakker came at him like a freight train, but Roman ducked under the spear attempt and blasted him with a Superman Punch. Clean. Precise. Devastating.
But Breakker wasn’t done. He caught Roman with a wicked clothesline off the announce table—damn near took his head off. Roman recovered fast though—too fast. He speared Breakker straight through the barricade. Dust and sparks flew, fans screamed, and I winced because it looked like a train wreck. Reed tried to finish it with a Tsunami from the top rope, but Roman somehow rolled out of the way and in one flawless motion, he turned it into a 1‑D with Jey. I thought it was over, but Breakker slid back into the ring and broke the pin at the last possible second. “Come on, Jey!” I yelled again, voice hoarse.
Breakker lined up for another spear, but just before he could hit Jey, Roman shoved his cousin out of the way—and took the full brunt of it himself. My breath caught in my throat. “Roman!” I half-shouted, heart pounding. That hit looked brutal—but then Jey responded. He speared Reed clean, got to the top rope, and soared through the air like he had wings. The Uso Splash landed perfectly.
One, two, three. The crowd erupted. I swear I did too. I bolted into the ring the second the bell rang. Jey was grinning through the sweat and the bruises, and without hesitation, I wrapped my arms around him in a tight hug. He laughed into my shoulder and squeezed me back. “I told you I’d be here,” I whispered, grinning.
“I knew you would,” he said, still catching his breath. “You’re ride or die, girl.”
We pulled back just a little, and then my gaze shifted. Roman was on one knee, still catching his breath after taking that spear for Jey. He looked up—and for a moment, I hesitated. That... wasn’t something I thought he’d do. Not that way. He’d thrown himself into harm’s way for Jey without hesitation. So I stepped toward him, and held out my hand. He looked at it, at me, then slowly got to his feet. And then—something I didn’t expect. Roman took my hand... and pulled me into a brief, firm hug. “Thanks for looking out for my cousin,” he said quietly into my ear. “I mean that.”
I blinked, caught off guard. “It’s just what I do,” I murmured back, still processing the hug.
He pulled back, but his eyes lingered on mine with a strange sort of weight behind them. “You don’t realize how much of an impact you’ve made here. You stood by my family when we needed it. That means everything.”
That... hit harder than I expected. And coming from him? That meant more than I could say. Before I could find words, Jey came up beside me and threw an arm around my shoulders with a wide grin. “So you gonna stick around now that Big Dog’s back?” he teased, flashing his signature smile.
I smirked. “Told you already—I’ve always got your back.”
Then I looked to Roman and added, “If he’ll let me.”
Roman gave a small nod, a smirk pulling at the corner of his mouth. “Yeah,” he said. “I think you earned that.”
I felt something shift then. Like a wall that had been between us quietly came down. Maybe not all the way, but enough. For tonight, we stood on the same side. And that? That felt like the start of something stronger than blood.
Later that evening-
The arena was wild and loud, pulsing with anticipation as the opening notes of Jelly Roll's entrance music hit. I stood just beside the ramp, the roar of the crowd rushing like a wave over me as my eyes locked on him and Randy making their way down. I couldn’t help but grin. Jelly looked nervous—who wouldn’t be for their first official WWE match—but there was this fire in his eyes I hadn’t seen before. Randy? Calm as ever, stone-faced and laser-focused, like a viper coiled and waiting. I leaned against the barricade, cupping my hands around my mouth. “You got this, Jelly! Let 'em know who the hell you are!”
He gave me a little smirk and a nod before climbing into the ring. Then the lights shifted. Logan Paul swaggered out with all the arrogance in the world, flanked by Drew McIntyre—tall, brutal, and ready to tear through anything in his path. I felt my fists clench just watching them. The bell rang—and chaos followed. Logan and Drew went after Jelly fast. I hated it. They were trying to break him down early, using every ounce of their experience and chemistry. But Jelly? That man didn’t fold. He swung back hard, connecting with jab after jab—and then, shockingly, nailed Logan with a headbutt that actually rocked him.
I screamed, “YES! That’s what I’m talking about!” I slapped the apron, trying to keep his momentum going. “You’re doing it, Jelly!”
Then Randy tagged in, and the crowd lit up. I swear the energy changed when he stepped in. He moved like he owned the ring—because he kinda did. But Drew caught him off guard, hitting a Glasgow Kiss that made me wince. Randy staggered but didn’t fall. He never did. Jelly kept tagging in when he could, fighting through every hit, every slam. I could see the pain etched into his face, sweat pouring down his brow, his breath coming fast and shallow—but he didn’t quit. Not once. And I wasn’t gonna let him feel alone. “Come on, Jelly!” I yelled, voice hoarse. “Get up! You’re still in this!”
Then it happened—the moment I wished I could have stopped. Drew lifted Jelly onto the announce table. My heart dropped. I knew what was coming. Logan climbed the top rope, cocky as hell, toasting his stupid Prime bottles like this was some kind of party. Then he launched—arms out, full extension—and crashed down on Jelly with a frog splash that shattered the table beneath them. The boom was deafening. I didn’t think. I ran. “Move, move!” I shoved past a cameraman and dropped to my knees at Jelly’s side. “Hey! Look at me—breathe, just breathe.”
He groaned, eyes fluttering. I hovered protectively over him, shooting daggers at Logan and Drew with my glare. “You try anything right now, I swear—I'll burn this whole damn ring down around you.”
Medical staff came in fast, trying to check him out, but Jelly shook his head, stubborn as always. “Nah… I’m not done.”
I stared at him. “Jelly, you don’t have to prove anything. You already showed the world what kind of fighter you are.”
But he looked at me with a mix of pain and pride. “I gotta finish this.”
So I nodded and stood with him, keeping my body between him and the other team until he rolled back into the ring. And somehow, he rallied. Hit Logan with a chokeslam. Tossed Drew with a Jelly-to-belly suplex that had the whole crowd on their feet. He even got a near fall. The crowd lost it. Then Drew recovered. He barreled in and hit Jelly with a Claymore that spun him like a top. I screamed again, but Randy slid in—like a damn ghost—snapped McIntyre with an RKO out of nowhere. Hope surged. Until Logan came back. That rat tossed Randy shoulder-first into the steel post. I shouted, “Coward!” but it didn’t matter. He climbed again, lined up Jelly, and hit a second frog splash. The ref counted three.
I couldn’t even hear the music at first. Just the pounding in my chest. I slid into the ring, brushing past Logan and Drew. “Get outta here,” I growled under my breath, kneeling beside Jelly. “You alright?”
Jelly blinked up at me, eyes dazed but smiling. “I think I flew more than wrestled.”
Randy rolled over, clutching his shoulder but still managing a grin. “Hell of a debut.”
I helped Jelly sit up, my hand resting on his shoulder. “You were amazing,” I said, voice fierce. “You fought through everything they threw at you. That’s more than most rookies could handle.”
He chuckled, wincing. “Guess that means I passed?”
I laughed and gave him a quick hug. “You didn’t just pass. You left a damn crater.”
Randy joined us, sitting beside Jelly and throwing an arm across both our shoulders. “We might’ve lost the match, but we stole the moment.”
I smiled at them both, warmth blooming in my chest despite the pain of the loss. “Damn right you did.”49Please respect copyright.PENANAuyJtUHnLNm
