“Help, somebody, help me!” Astra screamed. Two big men tied her up. They bound her paw-like hands together, and they tied her big, fluffy, red and black tail to her legs. And began dragging her down the dark hallway. She growled and bared her teeth at them. They stopped putting a bag over her head and then started pulling her again. She tried to fight them, but they were stronger than her; she was helpless. She thought to herself, How could this possibly have gone wrong? All she wanted was to help a friend, but she was being captured instead. She stopped and thought about all of her life decisions leading up to this exact moment. It was only yesterday that she was as free as a bird. The men stopped, and Astra could hear the sound of a heavy metal door unlocking. They continued dragging her until they reached what she thought was the middle of the room. They untied her, picked her up, put her in a chair, and retied her. After that, they took the bag off her head. It took Astra’s eyes a moment to adjust to the bright light of the room.
“Where am I!?” Astra yelled.
“Astra! We meet at last,” a low, mischievous voice said. A sixteen-year-old boy, coughing, stepped out from behind her. He walked around the chair, examining Astra.
“Who are you supposed to be? The apprentice?” Astra laughed at the young boy
“ Would you stop that? I am your captor,” he commanded. “And, no, I am not the apprentice; I am one of the head scientists,” he continued.
“And I’m the president,” Astra said sarcastically.
“Why are you so rude?” he whined. The giant black screen on the wall to her left caught her attention. It turned on, revealing baby photos of a human girl. The baby sort of resembled her. Weird, she thought.
“Whose baby photos are those?” she inquired.
“ Oh, those are the pictures of our latest experiment,” the scientist answered.
“ Are they recent?”
“No,” he said as he pulled out a random iPad Mini. His voice turned cold as if all the life had been sucked out of him. He strolled towards the screen to turn it off.
“Anyway, what have you done to Gray!?” Astra asked. She was getting impatient with the scientist.
“The fox? He is at the moment preparing for shipment,” the scientist said.
“ You killed him!” Astra exclaimed.
“ Are you kidding? Such creatures are made to be studied. We are sending him to a laboratory in Tennessee, " he answered. He then reached into his pocket and pulled out an apple.
Astra was amazed at how many items he could store in his pocket. Suddenly, the lights flickered, and the room went dark. Astra took this time to escape. Since she had night vision, she cut the rope with her claws. She turned towards the blind scientist. Maybe I should knock him out, she thought. But she knew that Gray was her only priority.
“Hey, where do you think you're going?” he yelled as he stumbled to the wall. Astra made her way to the door. To her surprise, the door was unlocked. Idiots. She walked down the dark hallway until she came to a door frame with a plastic cover where the door was supposed to be. This must be where they’re keeping Gray. She walked into the dark, cold room.
“Gray, you in here?” Astra whispered
“Over here,” he said. Astra
