In the darkest of alleys where we keep hidden,

Whispers echo down there.

Hidden from the outside world,

The cops don’t know we’re there.

Nine-to-fivers don’t know we exist.

We don’t talk much; we just use our fists.

Ready for the next hustle,

Dream on, you’ll never be one of us.

In this twisted world, nothing’s as it seems.

I feel the pain, the pain of survival rages inside of me.

Growing up poor, never had much,

I made my own way.

So cross me and meet a brutal end,

Descend into a world of pain, a world unknown.

Damn it!

The city is alive; the night is the lifeblood.

We come out of our hiding place,

With every heartbeat, it could be our last.

Gotta make this day count; it could be my last.

They fight with knives and guns and bare fists.

Tonight is the night my obituary could be written.

The steel glimmers from my .45,

A moonlight kiss, it shines in the night.

Bullets punch holes in your skin,

A moment of realization: you fucked up.

Drop dead!

Sirens screaming! No witnesses!

Blind to the blood!

Screams in the night; one of them was yours!

A symphony of pain!

Lost in the hustle, make money or else!

We’re all insane!

It’s cash or coffin;

We must survive.

Blind to the blood!

Welcome to the end; you end up dead.

You played us.

Your mom doesn’t know you’re never coming home.

I’m not sorry; you got what you got!

Your special delivery to your family in a box!

Blind to the blood!

When you play the game, it ends the same.

When you cross us,

With the lid shut, I hammer the last nail in your coffin.

In the silence that follows, the same story is told,

A story of violence, hustle, and survival.

Blind to the blood!

A side effect of the life we lead.

It starts all over again with another victim,

Another night and another street.

In this world of brutality, we’ll never cease.
