"New Unknown"

Come find me; I'm hiding from the light of the noonday sun.

I take refuge in a mine of shadows and bloodstone,

hiding for centuries while civilizations came and went—

cities built by dreamers,

existing only on dirty maps, now forgotten.

I’m soulless now, just a bottomless chasm,

a million lives scream within.

I've taken everyone with no regret,

speaking far from lies, only truth.

Bathe in a fountain of ancient tomes,

and take the wisdom from our ancestors.

The theater of light's stage is draped in darkness,

as a warrior realizes his cause is unjust.

No matter what you do, obey your leaders!

You have decided my winters were failures;

you were my only victim,

as I was called to identify you.

I remember when I still had a halo;

now I have wings black as sin.

I unraveled the knots that held us together,

shattering an hourglass on a mountainside.

The sand covers the city below,

and now it will never be found.

Now that I'm gone, you can return to desolation.

With a pocket of stars, I will own the night.

The harvest moon will plow the sky,

and morning dew will cover the field where I met you.

So close in my arms, but you vanished without a trace.

It's been so long, I almost forgot—

as a new unknown is all that's left.
