Analysis
To conclude the Ninja Dropouts storyline, this episode showed how they were destroyed. It also showed a resolution when Todoroki finally reunited with his younger brother, Akio. Therefore, when Akio is kidnapped, it is a rising action where a crisis leads to a climax. Other details will be revealed in the analysis.

Naruto versus Monju.
The episode starts by playing edgy music in the background when Naruto arrives, jumps on top of the mesh cage, and then Todoroki arrives. When he saw his younger brother trapped in the cage, he couldn’t believe it. Moreover, Monju was also in disbelief that they had escaped his net, so Naruto tried to chew through his mesh cage. However, it didn’t work because it caused some of his teeth to fall out. As a result, Monju shoots the net from the palm of his hand to trap Naruto in his net. He went further to tighten his net, only to realise he was just a shadow clone. Therefore, the real Naruto jumped underground, jumped in the air, turned in Monju’s direction, and punched him in the face.
However, after getting punched, Monju shoots his net from the palm of his hand to the two trees on opposite sides and then comes forward to hit Naruto. So, Naruto activated his Multi-Shadow Clones, and they ran in opposite directions, where his net was wrapped around the two trees. To finalise the attack, the real Naruto and the two shadow clones jumped in the air and then kicked him on the head when they landed on the ground. As a result, Monju passed out. Naruto is a dynamic character who continues to grow as a ninja to help him towards his goal of becoming Hokage.

The leader of the Ninja Dropouts, Shura, kidnaps Akio
After Naruto defeated Monju, Shura glided in the air with his umbrella. While he was about to land on the ground, Monju told him in a loud voice that the kid, Akio, who was trapped in the net, knew where their treasure was located. Akio was still unconscious, and when Rock Lee heard what Monju said to Shura, he came close to him and knocked him out with his kick. As a result, Monju passed out.
Meanwhile, Shura came close to the ground, took Akio, who was unconscious, and went upwards with his umbrella, gliding in the air. He was laughing wickedly. Thereafter, Gantetsu calls out his name, and at that moment, Todoroki realises that indeed it was his younger brother who was taken by Shura. As a result, he is almost teary-eyed, while the other kids are worried about Akio. Shura messed up the reunion of the brothers, and he will pay for his crimes.

Gantetsu revealed how he saved Akio around five years ago.
After Akio was kidnapped, Naruto removed the mesh Gantetsu was trapped in using his teeth. Afterwards, a dialogue took place among them when he revealed how he saved Akio’s life.
Todoroki: Gantetsu, did I hear you right? Did you call him Akio? The boy who was taken?
Gantetsu: You heard right; that is his name; that boy is yours; he is your younger brother.
Afterwards, intense music starts to slowly play in the background with a mix of electric guitar, drums, and violin. At that moment, Todoroki, Naruto, Sakura, and Rock Lee were stunned when they heard Gantetsu’s words.
Todoroki (almost teary-eyed): No, that’s a lie; Akio was; he died; in the flames, I saw it myself. You should know, it was you who killed him!
First orphan (shouts): No, you’re wrong.
Second orphan (shouts): No way, not Gantetsu; he didn’t kill anyone. He saved Akio’s life the same way he did with all of us!
Gantetsu: Five years ago, it was five years ago that I first woke up to the evil I’ve been a part of. When I found myself carrying Akio, I thought that by saving the boy, maybe I could make amends for what we had been doing, but it wasn’t enough. There would always be more of them to save—more young victims like Akio. That was when I first came up with my plan to destroy the ninja dropouts.
Todoroki is speechless, as Naruto then said:
Naruto (wide-eyed): You mean that?
Thereafter, the kids check on Gantetsu, making sure he’s okay, and while he is distracted, Sakura says to Todoroki:
Sakura: He rescued them all from the villages that were attacked. He secretly took care of them with the treasure he stole from the gang; since Akio was the oldest, he helped Gantetsu look after the others. They are like a family now; Gantetsu is like their father.
Todoroki (sad): My little brother thinks I found him only to lose him again.
Todoroki walked a bit, kneeled on the ground, and wept. It made everyone feel sympathetic about his situation as he loudly called out Akio’s name.
When Akio was kidnapped, his brother Todoroki wept because, after so many years, he thought he had lost his brother. So, when he finds out he is alive after he was kidnapped, it is like a slap in the face, which makes him cry out loud. The element of pain from suffering still runs deep in Todoroki, but towards the end, he will find peace. So, to find peace, Gantetsu leads them to the Ninja Dropout hideout.
At first, Todoroki was difficult, insisting that he would save his brother himself. However, when Gantetsu says he can do whatever he wants with him after they get Akio back, Todoroki changes his mind. Therefore, there is a rising action when a crisis leads to a climax. To support this, Rock Lee, Gantetsu, Naruto, and Todoroki left to go to the Ninja Dropouts' hideout, while Sakura stayed behind to keep an eye on the kids.
Naruto, Todoroki, and Gantetsu enter the Ninja Dropout mansion, leaving Sakura to care for the children and Lee to fight off the Ninja Dropout members outside. It was sunset when Naruto, Todoroki, Gantetsu, and Rock Lee ran in the forest as they were on their way to the Ninja Dropouts' hideout. Meanwhile, during the night at the Ninja Dropouts' hideout, Shura hits Akio on the back with his umbrella, leaving scars, and asks him where he keeps the treasure. In response, Akio refused to talk. At that moment, other Ninja Dropouts were also present.
While Shura was still questioning Akio, Gantetsu, Naruto, Rock Lee, and Todoroki arrived at the hideout. At first, they were hiding in the bushes, but Todoroki rushed in and ran towards the mansion. Eventually, the rest of the team followed him. After some time, Todoroki ran into a trap; hence, due to the noise, the ninja dropouts were now aware of their arrival. When the ninja dropouts opened the door of the mansion, they attacked them. So, Todoroki, Naruto, Gantetsu, and Rock Lee defeat the dropouts easily with their skills. Eventually, Rock Lee decides to stay behind to deal with them with his taijutsu skills while the rest of the team enters the mansion.
When Gantetsu, Naruto, and Todoroki enter the mansion, Gantetsu says to them that Shura must have kept Akio in a cellar. So, they go downstairs, with Gantetsu going in first while Naruto and Todoroki follow him behind. When they arrived at the darkroom of the cellar, they found Akio unconscious. At that moment, Todoroki runs to check on Akio, but he gets pushed by Gantetsu, who lands close to Akio. Before Todoroki can protest, a cage traps Gantetsu and Akio.
Afterwards, Shura arrived and revealed himself to them. To trap them, he used the point of his umbrella to unleash a fire. As a result, the cellar caught on fire, so Shura escaped while laughing wickedly. When Gantetsu realised that he was running away, he told Naruto to go after him while he tried to bend the bars with his hands. As soon as Naruto left, Todoroki just froze as he thought about his memories of losing his family and his younger brother. Meanwhile, Gantetsu eventually managed to bend the bars wide enough for him and Akio to escape. Akio was still unconscious, so Gantetsu carried him and called Todoroki to take Akio. However, Todoroki still froze, thinking about the memories of the past. Thereafter, Gantetsu said he should snap out of it until some wooden planks from above fell and blocked the way he had created to escape with Akio. This was a threatening atmosphere where they could have all died because of Todoroki, who was still stuck thinking about the past.

Naruto versus Shura.
While Gantetsu and Todoroki go to rescue Akio, Naruto fights the Ninja Dropout leader and defeats him. Naruto followed Shura, who went to the rooftop of the mansion. As Shura glided in the air with his umbrella, Naruto activated his Multi-Shadow Clone Jutsu when he and the shadow clones jumped in the air. When Shura realised that they were following him, action music played in the background when the shadow clones came close to him. So, Shura activated his Ninja Art: Blood Rain, where he used his umbrella to shoot needles from the bottom of it. Also, while gliding in the air, he spins the umbrella to help further disperse the needles, shooting it at the targets, Naruto’s shadow clones, who were underneath him. So, he destroyed some of the shadow clones, but there was one shadow clone and one real Naruto. Both activated the Rasengan, and afterwards, the real Naruto stepped on the shadow clone’s hand to get close and hit Shura with his Rasengan. Thereafter, Shura was tossed into the forest, which caused him to scream. After some time, the music stops playing in the background when Naruto uses his umbrella to glide in the air. Naruto proves to be a dynamic character that continues to grow as a fine shinobi.
The mansion catches fire in the fight, and Gantetsu saves Akio before escaping with him and Todoroki. Back to the scene with Todoroki, Gantetsu, and Akio, edgy music plays in the background when Todoroki snaps out of it from thinking about the past. When Gantetsu held Akio’s mouth to prevent him from inhaling the smoke, Todoroki realised the truth. He realised that in the past, Gantetsu didn’t want Akio to inhale the smoke, so he wasn’t holding Akio hostage but was protecting him. Therefore, he said in his mind, “So that’s what it was; he was; he was trying to save Akio, and I thought, all this time I thought.” As a result, he used his sword to cut the wooden plank that was blocking Gantetsu and Akio’s way. He then said to Gantetsu that he should put Akio on his back so that he could carry him. So, when Gantetsu put Akio on his back, they all rushed to the exit before the building collapsed.

The reunion between Akio and Todoroki.
While Akio was carried by Todoroki on his back, he slowly woke up, which led to a dialogue between them:
Akio: Brother, I always knew you would come for me someday.
Todoroki: You’re going to be all right, Akio.
Akio (teary-eyed): Brother, it is you, my brother, isn’t it?
As soon as they rushed outside, the building collapsed. The music stops playing in the background when everyone is safe and stands outside, witnessing the end of the ninja dropouts. After some time, Naruto arrives while gliding in the air with an umbrella and embarrassingly falls to the ground. At that point, there was now peace, which brought out a calm atmosphere.
Todoroki is still unable to forgive Gantetsu but allows him to stay with the children by falsely reporting that he had died in the fire. When they got back to the forest, the kids were happy to see Gantetsu, who was carrying Akio on his back. After some time, Gantetsu was ready to go to the capital to be tried for his crimes. In response, Todoroki said, “In my heart, I can’t forgive you for the crimes you committed, but it’s true, you saved my brother. I’ll report there was a rescue attempt; all the ninja dropouts were killed, and the prisoner along with them.” Thereafter, positive music plays in the background with a hint of piano and Japanese flute. It signified that Gantetsu was now free to act as a father figure to the orphans. Everyone was thrilled, and then he had a brief dialogue with his brother, Akio.

The dialogue between Akio and Todoroki.
Todoroki (smiles): You’ll be staying too, right?
After hearing this, Akio was speechless.
Todoroki (smiles): You belong here with Gantetsu and all these other children.
Akio looks down.
Todoroki (smiles): I wasn’t much of a big brother; here’s your chance to be a better one; be their big brother.
Akio (smiles): I’m going to try.
Todoroki then gave him the fish keychain, which was something he wanted to give him five years ago.
Akio (teary-eyed): Thanks, brother; that means a lot.
Afterwards, there was a moment of silence where everyone was happy, and then he said to the leaf ninja:
Todoroki (enthusiastic): Let’s be off, leaf ninja.
Naruto: Right!
As they all leave, Todoroki looks back to see his brother one more time, who waves him goodbye, as well as Gantetsu and the kids. He then walked away, confident that his brother was safe.
At that moment, Todoroki left his brother under the care of Gantetsu, which seems shocking to leave his brother after five years of not seeing him. Yet, it was a way of finding peace and letting go of the bitterness he had for Gantetsu.
Towards the end of the episode, Todoroki and the genin get lost in the forest. Naruto had forgotten that they only found their way into the forest because of Gantetsu. In other words, Gantetsu was the only one who could get them out, and they couldn’t go back and risk getting lost further in the forest. So Naruto shouted these words: “Help! Somebody send out a mission to rescue the mission!”
The lesson from this episode is that some can find a father figure in strangers, just like the orphans who love Gantetsu like he were their father.
