Analysis
The following episode was a situational irony in the sense that what happened, which was Naruto’s team getting a D-ranked mission, turned out to be the opposite of what was expected, which was the three criminal brothers making the mission complicated. Moreover, other details help to enhance understanding of the plot, as I will reveal in my analysis.

The Three Criminal Brothers plan to stage a coup d’état to take over the caste and the Land of Greens.
At the beginning of the episode, there was already foreshadowing of what was to come later in the plot. For instance, the three criminal brothers, Renga, Jiga, and Ruiga, were spying on the Land of Greens while sitting in a tree in the woods. One of the brothers, Renga, said, “Half of the village officials have been bought and paid for. At our signal, the castle will be overthrown from within, and days in, we’ll be feudal lords.” Afterwards. Other masked ninjas were working for them to help them stage their coup d’état. This scene already gives a hint of what to expect in the plot. The Three Criminal Brothers play a role in understanding more about the Land of Greens and how they managed to infiltrate. Therefore, it makes the storyline interesting.
Naruto, Choji, and Hinata are sent to help some peddlers move out of the Land of Greens. Naruto’s team seemingly got a D-ranked mission where they were supposed to escort travelling merchants to the Land of Greens. So, they headed off to meet the merchants and found out that they were supposed to push the wooden caravans while wearing the shirts written “Leaf Village Moving Service,” hence the relevance of the title shown here.
While everyone was pushing the caravan, there was one guy named “Shun” who didn’t push the caravan. Naruto was confused, wondering why he was not pushing anything while everyone was doing the hard work. So, the men who were with Shun gave a silly excuse, saying that he was sick. But Shun was rude to Naruto, saying that he was a weakling and that he was only finding a reason not to push the caravan. Therefore, due to Shun’s words, Naruto pushed the caravan with speed. What was weird was that when Shun was speaking, his voice sounded feminine. Moreover, the demeanour of the guys who were with him was weird as well, almost like they were hiding something. Shun is hiding something, hence bringing out the mystery in the plot.

More details concerning the Land of Greens
While everyone stopped along the way, one of the men said that the Land of Greens is a place that has sweet water. It’s a small place that lies in shelter deep within the mountains. The people live in perfect harmony with each other and with the world around them. It was almost like a paradise on earth. Shun then went on to say, “Living in peace and harmony might sound like a beautiful thing, but the people of the land of greens have been living that way for so long that they have become soft and unprepared. In times like these, you must be blind or a fool not to expect the worst of others.” His tone was so disrespectful and rude, and when a grandma said something about the feudal lord of the Land of Greens being kind, Shun just left. His actions are appalling. It makes one wonder why he has such a negative view of the Land of Greens. Is he hiding something? This Shun character brings rhetorical questions into one’s mind, which makes one curious, hence why he brings mystery to the plot.
Unbeknownst to them, a group called the Three Criminal Brothers has taken control of the land and is looking for one of the peddlers. Since we know in the opening scene that the brother is planning to stage a coup d’état, Naruto and the merchants are bound to come across some trouble. Along the way, a girl named Momiji ran close to a cliff, where Choji followed her. When they were both standing on the cliff, they saw black smoke coming from the direction of the Land of Greens. As the audience, we know that the three criminal brothers have staged the coup d’état; hence, this is dramatic irony in the sense that we are aware of this, yet the characters are not aware of it. So, Choji called Naruto, and when Naruto saw the black smoke, he decided to access the area while Choji, Momiji, and the rest continued travelling.

Naruto gets attacked by two masked ninjas.
When Naruto arrived in the woods, he was trying to read a map that could help him find the Land of Greens. While he was still reading the map, he was attacked by two masked ninjas. Luckily, Naruto dodged their attacks and hid inside the bushes. While Naruto took cover, one of the masked ninjas let Naruto know that he was in their way, especially since they were waiting for someone to pass through their area. So, one of the masked ninjas threw a paper bomb wrapped around a kunai in Naruto’s direction, which caused an explosion. However, Naruto dodged the attacks, but that didn’t stop the ninjas from throwing various kunai at Naruto until he landed on a tree and fell to the ground. Afterwards, the two masked ninjas came close to the “injured” Naruto, but when they got close, they realised that it was just Substitution Jutsu with the shirt Naruto wore titled “Leaf Village Moving Service.” Therefore, Naruto is no longer wearing the shirt but has a grey t-shirt on.
Moreover, while the two masked ninjas got distracted, Naruto’s various shadow clones came from the sky, landed on the ground, and chased after the ninjas. As a result of Naruto having the upper hand, action music plays in the background. First, while the shadow clones were pursuing the first ninja, the ninja sliced the clones with his sword, causing the shadow clones to disappear. Second, the second ninja tossed various shuriken at the shadow clones, causing the shadow clones to disappear. Third, when the remaining two shadow clones were standing side by side holding their kunai, they were facing the two masked ninjas, where one was standing on the left and the other was standing on the right. Therefore, the ninjas seemingly thought they had the upper hand since they assumed that one of the shadow clones was the real Naruto. Yet, when they tossed their shuriken at the shadow clones, they were sadly mistaken since the shuriken just passed through the shadow clones, who disappeared, and then the shurikens hurt their shoulders instead. While this was happening, the real Naruto was sitting above the tree the whole time, witnessing their demise. After he realised the masked ninjas were defeated, Naruto left and headed back to where his team and the merchants were.
Naruto is a dynamic character who continues to grow and learn new skills. Instead of mindlessly fighting his enemies, he used strategy; hence, he was a strategist when he defeated these masked ninjas.
So, when Naruto got back and informed his team what happened, Hinata said something crucial. She said, “But why? Why would ninjas want to attack this group? It’s just a caravan of travelling merchants; they are harmless, and according to them, the land of greens treated them kindly.” Indeed, her question was valid, and that’s when it’s definite that Shun is hiding something. Since he had something negative to say about the Land of Greens, very soon he will be the one to answer Hinata’s questions, hence bringing out the unanswered rhetorical questions. Moreover, after the trouble Naruto faces in the woods, he and his squad decide to use a different route to avoid unnecessary trouble.

Who helped the Three Criminal Brothers stage the coup d’état in the Land of Greens?
When the three brothers entered the feudal lord’s residence, they were looting treasure, but they were disappointed when there wasn’t much; hence, a dialogue takes place among them:
Jiga: Is that all the treasure there is? What kind of feudal lord is this?
Renga: Unfortunately, one is too honest to line his own pockets, but of course, all that changes starting right now. More importantly, has there been any sign of the young lady?
Jiga: Not yet, but those two we sent out to find her were attacked. Now, at least, we know where she’s headed.
Renga: Just getting the girl is not enough. If any of the others get away, they might get hold of reinforcements from another land and come back. If only the sun were a little stronger, I could have burned down this whole mountain with my jutsu.
Ruiga: Hehehe, leave it to me.
From the dialogue, it is evident that the brothers have killed the feudal lord. He was known to have compassion for others, and he even once paid Lady Tsunade’s huge gambling debt out of the goodness of his heart. Therefore, it is a tragedy that a good leader died. What is most sickening is that he died because a servant from the village betrayed him just to get his riches. This is evident after the servant arrives to inform the brothers that their supporters have gathered in the main hall. While Jiga and Ruiga went there, Renga stayed behind with the servant who asked for payment, and Renga signalled for him to take the coins that were lying on the floor. As a result, the servant greedily picks up every coin on the ground. However, this happy moment starts to change when tense music plays in the background to signify that something bad is about to happen. For instance, Jiga and Ruiga killed the main supporters who were gathered in the main hall. When the servant realised what had happened, he tried to escape, but thanks to his greed for taking every coin on the floor, the weight slowed him down, and eventually Renga killed him as well. As an audience, we see this as poetic justice. The servant learns that he can’t do something sinister and gets away with it; hence, the audience doesn’t feel any pity for him at all for his death.

Shun and the two men’s identities are revealed.
There is an unfolding of events when the dialogue between Shun and the two men converses about the trouble that lies ahead.
Kikunojo: There can no longer be any doubt, Yurinojo; they are coming after us.
Yurinojo: Yes
Kikunojo: Stay with Lady Haruna
Yurinojo: Why? What are you going to do?
Kikunojo: We can’t wait for them to attack; there’s too much in the caravan to defend. If I can find them first, there’s a chance I can divert them or slow them down.
Yurinojo: Say there are three of them—a rogue ninja with an unknown powerful jutsu?
Kikunojo: I know what they say, but I’m confident my jutsu will be more of a match for theirs.
Lady Haruna (disguised as Shun): Very well then. Good luck, Kikunojo
Kikunojo: Thank you, Lady Haruna.
Kikunojo leaves

A possible explanation for Lady Haruna’s bitterness about the Land of Greens.
From the dialogue, it is safe to assume why Shun, who was Lady Haruna all this time, was bitter about the Land of Greens. It was probably because she knew of the coup d’état and that she knew someone from the village had betrayed the feudal lord. Moreover, she is probably aware that the feudal lord died at the hands of the three brothers. Lastly, judging from her interaction with the two men in the dialogue, it is safe to assume that she is the feudal lord’s daughter. The other two men, Kikunojo and Yurinojo, were probably sent by the feudal lord to protect her from any danger. Tragically, he won’t see his daughter any more.
Moreover, in the dialogue, it is definite that the two men are ninjas, and since one of them, Kikunojo, is surveying the area to check for any trouble, there is going to be a battle on the way. To add on, when it is said in the dialogue, “rogue ninja with an unknown powerful jutsu,” it is referring to Renga since he is the leader of his brothers and has that powerful jutsu. This leaves us curious to know what the secret jutsu is.

The battle between Kikunojo and Ruiga
P.S. The descriptions of the jutsu will be linked to the Narutopedia Website
To finish off the episode with a bang, we are shown a battle between Kikunojo and Ruiga, one of the three criminal brothers. When the two opponents ran into a field with flowers, Kikunojo did not waste time going on the offensive. First, he activated his jutsu: Flower Shuriken: Flying Flower, Falling Foliage. This technique caused the flowers to hover in the air before hardening and spinning at high speeds. Afterwards, the flowers targeted Ruiga so that their hardened state would allow them to cut Ruiga like a metal shuriken. However, Ruiga blocked the attack. Second, Kikunojo activated Flower Ninja Art: Release Myriad of Flowers. This technique turns flowers into bombs that can be detonated, like explosive tags. However, Ruiga blocked that attack as well. Last, Kikunojo activates Flower Ninja Art: Bloom Myriad of Flowers. He surrounded Ruiga with flowers, which ignited the flowers with flames that were shooting towards him, causing an explosion. However, after the explosion, it was revealed that Ruiga used a water prison to block the attack. Afterwards, Ruiga activated his jutsu, Water Style: Liquid Memory, where he manipulated water and moisture around Kikunojo. What will happen next? Will Kikunojo survive? The episode ended in suspense, making us anxious to understand Ruiga’s jutsu.
The lesson from this episode is that the love of money is a dangerous game, since before the servant died from Renga’s sword, instead of leaving the money behind, he held on to that money instead of leaving it to run faster before he died.
