“Kiba’s Long Day!”
“Naruto is assigned to watch Akamaru, Kiba Inuzuka’s ninja-dog, who has recently been acting strangely after being infected by a special bacterium during a mission. This is confirmed when Akamaru begins to attack Konoha’s inhabitants violently, and the ANBU take him into custody, being prepared to have Akamaru euthanised if they are unable to cure him. However, this is too much for Kiba, and he rescues Akamaru, attempting to cure him on his own. Naruto pursues Kiba, who refuses to believe that Naruto is attempting to help him. Finally, Kiba’s sister arrives, and Naruto attempts to restrain a now giant-sized and hostile Akamaru to administer a potential cure developed by Konoha’s medical team. However, the cure only has a 50% chance of working. Kiba succeeds in the task but is nearly killed in the process. It is later revealed that Akamaru tried his hardest to miss Kiba’s vital points, something that Kiba thanks Akamaru for.”

Analysis
To start a new season, the episode wasn’t too intense. The problem concerning Akahoshi was eventually resolved, and this episode was mainly focused on the close relationship between Kiba and Akamaru.
Naruto is assigned to watch Akamaru, Kiba Inuzuka’s ninja dog, who has recently been acting strangely after being infected by a special bacterium during a mission. When Naruto was at her office, Tsunade told him that while he and others were away on a mission, the Leaf Village was infiltrated by an enemy ninja. So, when Kiba and his team found the enemy and took care of him, Akamaru somehow got infected by the enemy’s attack. What made it suspicious was that before the enemy could get captured, the intruder took his own life by swallowing a poison capsule, perhaps to take the secret of the mission to his grave. Moreover, Tsunade said that their investigation revealed he was a shinobi from a distant village specialising in a unique and uniquely unpleasant form of battle skill, which Tsunade calls “biological warfare.” She went on to explain what she meant by biological warfare by saying, “They infect their enemies with a slow-acting pathogen that gradually takes over the host body. A terrible transformation takes place.” Therefore, that is how Akamaru got infected with the special bacteria.
There were some signs and symptoms that Akamaru went through before his deadly transformation. First, when Shino and Hinata were training outside while Kiba was watching over them, something strange happened. When Kiba and Akamaru wanted to leave, Shino’s insects attacked Akamaru. When Kiba asks Shino to stop his insects, Shino struggles to stop them, but eventually, the insects let Akamaru go. The insects knew something amiss was going on with Akamaru.
Second, when Kiba and Hana were conversing at home, Akamaru bit Naruto’s bottom, even though he knew Naruto’s scent. The funny thing is that before Naruto arrived at Kiba’s place, Kiba and his sister, Hana, were discussing Akamaru’s condition. Since Hana is a vet, she noted that Akamaru’s condition was getting worse. Therefore, the signs and symptoms were already there before the issue escalated.
This is confirmed when Akamaru begins to attack Konoha’s inhabitants violently, and the ANBU take him into custody, being prepared to have Akamaru euthanised if they are unable to cure him. After Akamaru experienced those symptoms, his condition got worse to the extent that he killed a shinobi. This was confirmed by Kiba at his place when he told Hana that the scent of blood was on Akamaru. Afterwards, the ANBU arrived at his home to take Akamaru into custody under the orders of the Hokage. So, there was nothing Kiba could do to stop them, and due to this, the ANBU locked Akamaru in a cage and took him away to a veterinary hospital. This situation frustrated Kiba.
The next day, Akamaru decided to go to the veterinary hospital to see Akamaru. Before he left, his sister Hana gave him a batch of untested vaccines to give to the vet. Afterwards, Kiba left, where he somehow headed to the Hokage’s headquarters to eavesdrop on a conversation between Naruto and Tsunade. Kiba heard Tsunade say to Naruto that since Akamaru was the one who attacked the shinobi last night, the medical corps was doing everything they could to find an antidote. If they don’t, Akamaru will have to be put down or terminated. With the love and caring nature Kiba has for Akamaru, that’s when he makes plans to rescue Akamaru at the veterinary hospital.
However, this is too much for Kiba, and he rescues Akamaru, attempting to cure him on his own. At the veterinary hospital, Kiba rescued Akamaru by putting him in the bag that his sister gave him to supply the untested vaccines to the vet. Eventually, information about his wrongdoing reached Tsunade’s office, and she called for drastic measures by calling the leader of the special pursuit core to deal with Akamaru. Naruto, upon hearing this at her office, runs away to look for Kiba. Meanwhile, the leader of the special pursuit core is none other than Kiba’s sister, Hana. When she arrived, Tsunade gave her the vial that contained a serum for Akamaru that the medical corps came up with. However, it only had a 50% chance of working. Moreover, there was also a risk that the side effects could make Akamaru’s condition even worse. So, Tsunade said if that happened, Hana would have to terminate him.
When Naruto ran out of the office, he was out in the woods around nighttime when he heard a howl while he was close to a lake. Naruto followed the sound of the howl, where he found Kiba and saw Akamaru change into a huge werewolf beast. As a result, there is a threatening atmosphere surrounding Kiba and Naruto.
Naruto pursues Kiba, who refuses to believe that Naruto is attempting to help him. Kiba and Naruto were battling it out with their kunai in their hands. Kiba believed that Naruto was sent to terminate Akamaru, and Naruto defended himself by saying he came looking for him because he was worried about him. Moreover, Naruto told him about the special pursuit corps that was on their way. At that moment, Naruto just proved to be a loyal friend who was worried about his friend going through this ordeal.
Finally, Kiba’s sister arrives, and Naruto attempts to restrain a now giant-sized and hostile Akamaru to administer a potential cure developed by Konoha’s medical team. However, the cure only has a 50% chance of working. When Hana arrived with her ninja hounds, she informed Kiba and Naruto that she had the serum that could help Akamaru, but also emphasised that there was a very strong possibility the side effects would only make him worse. So, Naruto agreed to help since the serum had a 50% chance of working, while Kiba wallowed in his sadness, thinking about the side effects it could pose to Akamaru. We see a contrast of characters in the sense that Naruto is hopeful while Kiba is negative.

Dramatic music plays in the background with a mix of electric guitar, drums, and Japanese guitar. Naruto activated his multi-shadow clones while Kiba stood aside to wallow in his sadness. They planned to pin Akamaru down on the ground so that they could inject him with the serum. Therefore, Naruto and Hana’s ninja hounds charged forward and managed to pin Akamaru down. However, when Hana attempted to come close to Akamaru, he tossed her aside with the shadow clones. The vial she had in her hand eventually landed close to Kiba. While Hana was in a compromising situation, she thought of terminating Akamaru.

Kiba’s loving, caring nature toward Akamaru
Kiba succeeds in the task but is nearly killed in the process. Emotional music plays in the background with a high-pitched piano. After hearing the word “termination” from his sister, that’s when Kiba decided to intervene. He said to Akamaru, “Stop! Stop it now, Akamaru.” As he walked toward Akamaru, he went on to say, “Akamaru, what’s wrong, boy? Have you forgotten my scent? We’ve always been together, haven’t we? We grew up together. Akamaru, please, somewhere in there, somewhere, there must be a part of you that remembers. Show me that you remember. Akamaru!!!!” Despite Akamaru losing it by jumping in the air and preparing to attack, Kiba proceeded to say, while almost teary-eyed, “Forgive me, can you? I know that I’ve brought you nothing but pain and suffering. I broke my word. I swore I would always protect you. Akamaru, I’m sorry. Sorry, I wasn’t a better master. I’m here, here for you, forever!” Afterwards, Akamaru came back to his senses as he remembered Kiba. He fought the beast within him, and he deliberately missed crushing Kiba’s vital points. Kiba’s loving, caring nature toward Akamaru runs deep in his veins. Even though Akamaru looked like a monster and was dangerous, Kiba risked his life to try to save Akamaru from the darkness he had caused by the bacteria. Therefore, he has a close relationship with Akamaru.

Akamaru’s loving, caring nature towards Kiba
It is later revealed that Akamaru tried his hardest to miss Kiba’s vital points, something that Kiba thanks Akamaru for. After getting crushed by Akamaru, Kiba was taken to the hospital to recover from his injuries. The medical corps was the one that arrived at the woods to save him and Akamaru. While Kiba slowly woke up from his bed, he heard Tsunade conversing with Hana about Akamaru missing his vital points. Naruto was also present, and when they said Kiba was lucky, he survived. He began telling them about Akamaru’s bravery in deliberately missing the vital points of his body. He said, “It was more than luck that saved me from that attack; it was him Akamaru missed on purpose. It was him; he used the last of his strength to shift the attack just enough. He fought the monster within him as hard as he could, and he won.” For that reason, Kiba was thankful. Their relationship is close to the extent that they would both risk their lives to save each other, which is why their relationship is close. Moreover, this is where we see comic relief serving its purpose. The episode ended with a lighthearted scene after the dramatic moment in this episode. Afterwards, we are shown Akamaru back to his normal self, resting on a small bed, recovering from his injuries as well.
