Unfortunately, so could someone else. The moment he activated Streak, he noticed a blur move toward the door. But from what he understood, though they were pneumarians, they could only achieve light speed in space as they traveled.
As his perception set adjusted to the new parameters of his speed, the blur he saw began to become clear, but he'd already started his momentum.
To his surprise, the pneumarian of light now stood before him with her arm extended, allowing her to effortlessly stop him in his tracks as she pushed against his momentum.
Time returned to normal speed.
"He's a quick one," someone commented.
"He tried to outrun the fastest being on Cindar?" another laughed.
"Interesting. So, you do have Streak. But from what Rabae tells us, you don't understand your power, do you?" the pneumarian of light asked, "You're not the first to inherit Streak. It allows a klevonian light user like you to move as light, but you have no control over it. No finesse. You should aim higher. Take me, for example: I have much more control. I can enhance my speed significantly for much longer periods. Though not light speed, it proves quite useful. Or, like just now, like you, I can travel in bursts of light speed."
"You're telling me this to let me know I have no hope of escaping you," Michael summed up.
The pneumarian tilted her head angelically and smiled.
"Unfortunately, to ensure you don't go warning your friends...," the pneumarian extended an arm gently, but firmly pushed Michael backwards. As he stumbled a few steps, he stepped into what seemed like a different space entirely.
When he regained his balance, he saw the pneumarian wave as the white rift in the air shut, but he could still see everyone through a shimmering portal before him.
"Don't worry. No harm will come to you unless necessary. That space prevents you from reaching out telepathically, but your friends will still sense your presence," he heard Raina's voice speak. "Now, if everyone is satisfied, you're all free to return to your districts. We'll convene again later this evening."
