The Triple Axis was a conference of three nations which came together during the intermezzo period of the Second Calamity: the Kaiserriech of Zhermannen, the Tsarreich of the Rus, and the Republic of the Middle Kingdoms. Zhermannen had just suffered a catastrophic defeat after four years of war, while the Rus were still reeling from revolutions which had sprung up around the nation, and the Middle Kingdoms in the Far East became fractured upon the abdication of their emperor. These three powers were driven by a common cause: to protect their nation and prevent it from falling prey to the victors of the Great War, but this need for vengeance erupted into war again. The Second Great War began splendidly for the Axis, but after the League of Nations joined the war, the three allies began to crumble, lacking the manpower, equipment, and logistics to fuel years more of war. It was the overthrowing of Chancellor Adolphus Hiedler and the formation of the Three Kingdoms of Zhermannen that eventually led to the reorganisation of the Axis’s war effort and their eventual victory over the League. However, occupation was simply not enough.
