As the morning wore on, the crowd at the well grew. Soon, the line at the well stretched to the front of the old church. Today was worse than the day before. The water at the well was almost finished. If you weren't the first to draw, the water you got was muddy. The elder had said they would attempt to expand the well again while the new one outside the village was being dug. But the last expansion was last week, and already the water was gone. Perhaps the rumour is true—the sage did curse the land.
