I really liked how this chapter throws Trevor straight into a situation where he actually has to use his new power instead of just figuring things out on his own. The nuuclanites were interesting too, especially Olu and his guilt over accidentally destroying a city with the Shepherd’s Staff.
The arena fight was probably my favorite part. Trevor starts off so confident, only to realize the champion is much stronger than he expected, and seeing his transformation get disrupted made the defeat feel pretty brutal. That ending with the dampening collar definitely makes me curious about what the RA plans to do with him.
I also liked the switch to Arne at the end. Her deciding that Damien is going to be her next challenge feels like it could lead to a really interesting fight. Definitely curious to see how Trevor gets out of this situation and what happens when Arne reaches Damien. Btw your fic actually gave me an idea while I was reading.
