I really admire how unique your plot is. It didn't feel predictable at all. Did you always know how the story would end, or did the ending change while you were writing?

hii! no I wrote the first draft with a vague idea of the "vibes" lol. I had many more drafts to figure out the plot! I'm so glad you like it :D

I actually love that! 😄 Sometimes starting with just the feeling or “vibe” of a story can lead to something much more natural. I think it’s interesting how the first draft can be more about discovering the characters and the world, and then later drafts help shape everything into the story you really want to tell.
It’s great that you kept working through multiple drafts to find the plot. What was the biggest thing that changed from the first draft to the final version? @n. pidge,

@Sarahh1h, SO many things. The way it ends being the biggest change. I originally had it set up for a character to have a revenge arc, but now they try to save the other characters. The other way seemed more realistic of the way they'd handle their guilt.

I like when a character’s growth changes the direction of the story instead of just following the original plan. Sometimes the ending that feels more true to the character isn’t necessarily the one you first imagined.
I think it says a lot about the character that they chose to try to save others instead of letting guilt turn into revenge. What made you realize that their original path didn’t fit them anymore was it something that happened while writing their scenes, or did you see the character differently after a few drafts?@n. pidge,

@Sarahh1h, So I put aside the story and got some beta readers. A lot of them pointed out how this specific character (no spoilers lol) wouldn't choose to do what he did. And then I spent like 3 years trying to get the rest of the story right. TBH, I'm not sure if it is right, so I'm always up for your feedback!

That actually says a lot about how much you care about your characters. I like that you took the feedback seriously instead of forcing the original ending to work. Spending three years reworking it because one character's decision didn't feel right shows a lot of dedication, and it probably made the story much stronger in the end. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how it all plays out, and I'll be happy to share my thoughts as I keep reading. 😊
