The way you wrote the vanilla scent as something sweet that becomes sickening and oppressive as the invasion progresses is such a clever sensory detail, and that moment where the creature speaks in Chloe's own voice while the thing inside her whispers "let me in" gave me chills. The Echo watching and saying "how human" as Aiden betrays them is perfectly cold.
