I think good writing comes from actually enjoying the process, and it sounds like you’ve found your own way of doing that. What’s the one thing you’d like to improve most in your writing?

First of all, thank you. I want to find my own voice, but since English isn't my native language, it can be a bit challenging; sometimes my descriptions don't quite achieve the effect I'm aiming for. Improving in this area and maintaining consistency are my top priorities. Actually, this story is based on the beginning of a dream I had the other night; the rest of the dream had a rather dystopian atmosphere. I really love having dreams like that and turning them into stories.^^

@sheschihiro,Honestly, I think it’s really cool that you’re turning your dreams into stories. That kind of inspiration can make your writing feel so personal and unique. And don’t be too hard on yourself about English your ideas and atmosphere already come through, and your voice will naturally get stronger with practice. What part of that dream inspired you the most when you decided to turn it into a story?

@stellareed1, Thanks again for your kind comments—they mean a lot. And the part that struck me the most was the ending of my dream... there are still at least 3 or 4 chapters to go before that makes it into the story, haha

@sheschihiro,Honestly that makes it even more interesting haha. There’s something really special about a dream that stays with you enough to become a whole story, especially when you already know there’s still 3 or 4 chapters waiting to be written. I’d definitely be curious to see how you build toward that ending and what parts of the original dream you end up keeping or changing along the way. Do you already have those next chapters planned out, or do you prefer discovering them as you write?

@stellareed1, Actually, I plan to proceed by fleshing out the details exactly in the order the dream unfolded. I anticipate it being a short story of about ten chapters rather than a very long story. I’m sure it will evolve into a more developed version than what I’m currently envisioning, and I hope you enjoy reading it!

Letting the story unfold in the same order as the dream gives it a natural flow, and I think expanding those details as you write could make the final version feel even more immersive. Ten chapters sounds like a great length too I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how it develops and what changes along the way.If you’re comfortable with it, we could also connect on Discord or instgram sometime.
