Hey! I really liked your story. It has a quality that makes you want to keep reading, which I think is one of the most important things a writer can achieve. The pacing kept things interesting, and I never felt like the story lost its direction. What was the biggest challenge you faced while writing it?

StrawHatGabi
I think it's probably just committing to writing every day. That or editing!

Diana Mill
@StrawHatGabi, Yeah, definitely Writing every day and then editing both take a lot of consistency. But it seems like you really enjoy the writing process By the way, do you prefer writing or editing more? And why?

StrawHatGabi
@Diana Mill, I prefer the writing itself, it can be so nice and methodical. Editing makes me sad because of spelling errors lol.

@StrawHatGabi, Hahaha, I can understand Writing is definitely more enjoyable, but finding spelling mistakes while editing can be pretty annoying By the way, where are you from?

StrawHatGabi
@Diana Mill, I currently live in the USA

Hi! I came across your story and ended up getting way more into it than I expected haha. I really liked the way you handled the characters and their emotions. How did this story first come to you?

StrawHatGabi
It started as a of RP group chat with me and my friends and as the plot progressed, i started to keep track of the gist of what happened and eventually started writing this from the perspective of K9! It's been a bit of a group effort from a lot of people who helped me remember what happened!

@StrawHatGabi, Ohh that’s actually really cool! I love how an RP with friends turned into a whole story, and K9’s perspective makes it even more interesting. You’ve clearly put a lot into it! What made you choose K9 as the POV?
3 weeks agoReply

StrawHatGabi
@stellareed1, Well, to be completely honest, he was the character that I created, so he's my OC and I was quite active, leading to there being a lot of lore and plot points with him in them, so there's a lot of material for me to dig into!

@StrawHatGabi,Honestly, I think that makes K9’s POV even more interesting Since he’s your own character and you’ve been so involved in building his story, it makes sense that you’d have so much material to explore with him. It’s really cool how something that started as an RP with friends grew into a full story like this. You can tell there’s a lot of heart behind it. Do you think K9 has changed much from the way you originally imagined him when you first created him?
3 weeks agoReply

StrawHatGabi
@stellareed1, he most definitely has changed, the biggest change so far has been highlighted here, but it's how he realized how much the drug has taken over. I wish I could write this faster, because I have a lot more thoughts on what to do next that are absolutely wonderful, but there are lots of nuances to his story that you will get to see soon!

stellareed1
@StrawHatGabi,That honestly makes it even more exciting You can really tell how much thought you’ve put into K9, and I love that his story has evolved naturally instead of staying exactly how you first imagined it. I’m definitely curious to see all those little nuances you’ve hinted at What’s the biggest change in K9 that surprised you the most while writing him?
3 weeks agoReply

StrawHatGabi
@stellareed1, probably just how desperate he is to feel like a part of the mafia, or how he really hates letting others help him!
3 weeks agoReply

stellareed1
@StrawHatGabi,That actually makes his journey feel so much more real. I really like how you’re showing his struggle through these small details instead of just telling the reader what he’s feeling You’ve clearly put a lot of thought into his growth, and I’m excited to see where you take it next. Do you think he’ll eventually become more comfortable letting others help him?
3 weeks agoReply

StrawHatGabi
@stellareed1, I'm not sure actually, I am going off of vibes for the plot honestly, and even if I knew, that would be a spoiler (; But you'll find out sooner or later!
3 weeks agoReply

stellareed1
@StrawHatGabi,Haha honestly, going off vibes can make the story way more fun, especially when even you don’t know exactly where it’s heading. It keeps things unpredictable and gives the characters room to surprise you too I’m definitely curious to see how his journey unfolds Do you usually let your characters lead the story like that?
3 weeks agoReply

StrawHatGabi
@stellareed1, Yeah, I have a very general idea for the plot, but most of it is decided by whatever my characters are doing atm!
