CHAPTER THIRTY-EIGHT
Her eyes opens, she felt her head almost falling off her shoulder.
She sees herself in a hospital, she looked beside her and sees Kyung's dad who was crying and V beside him.
"My dear, you are awake now." Kyung's dad smiled
"Where is Kyung?" She manages to ask
"You mean your brother?" Kyung's dad asked
"My brother, what do you mean by my brother?" She asked in shock.
"Well, Kyung is your brother, I met your mum during my stay in Nigeria, I got her pregnant but denied it cause, I mean she's black. Though your mum was already engaged to your dad, so I just left. I am sorry, I shouldn't have denied you, I should have taken responsibility." Kyung's dad explained
"You are lying." Simi said not believing all he said.
"He's not lying." She sees her mum walk in and sits on a chair beside her bed.
"You remember the day you brought Kyung to our home?" Her mum asked
"Yes... yes." Simi replied
"That was the day I knew he was your brother, since you said you guys were just friends, I brushed it off but after figuring through Diana that you are pregnant for your brother, I... I had to speak up. I am sorry." She explained
Tears filled her eyes, she couldn't believe it, she looks at her stomach and realize it was flat, she asked in tears, "where's my baby?"
"A lot happened, you need to calm down." Her mum replied
"What do you mean I need to calm down? Where's my baby?" Simi cried
Just then Yang enters with a laptop, she was in tears, she gives Simi the laptop and ushers her to play the video.
Simi was confused and scared of the unknown, she plays the video and sees Zhao in a hospital gown.
"Hi Simi, how are you?" His smile made her feel scared, why would Zhao talk to her through a video he recorded when he could show up.
"The doctor said your heart has some small issues and you will die... I don't want you to die... I can't watch you die... I love you so so much." She sees the tears in his eyes, what does this mean? She was trying to admit this was a joke, she was scared, her Zhao... wait... what was going on?
"I am donating my heart to you." Her heart shattered at those words, tears rolled down her cheeks.
"You know, I wish we could be together but I guess we can't. I don't want you to blame yourself, all I want is for you to be happy. I just want you to know, I am giving up my life because I love you so much. Don't blame yourself, I wish I could father that baby but he's dead, I wish we would have created a family and be happy but let's just say it was not meant to be." She cried even more as she saw the pains in his eyes.
"I love you Simi, take care of yourself, I wish you a happy life, don't worry about my family, I have settled things with them. They won't hurt you." She knew what was going on, her Zhao was dead, she cried painfully.
"Goodbye." The way he said goodbye broke her heart even more, she cried uncontrollably as the video ended.
Yang collects the laptop angrily and says in tears, "I hope you are happy now."
"You came into our home and brought sorrow into our lives, I should have never allowed my brother date you. We begged you not to break his heart, we threatened you with a contract but still you broke him." Yang said in pains
"I can't believe he accepted you back, yet you still fled with your cheating guy who is your own brother, are you happy now?"
"Tell me, is there anything that a man does for his woman that Zhao did not do, tell me, is there something you wanted that he didn't do. I swear, I and my family will never allow blacks like you in our family, cause I now regret ever letting you in. You ungrateful human being." She says in tears and leaves.
Simi cried painfully, her mum tried to comfort her, V tried to control his tears, he leaves the ward and sees Kyung sitting on a chair in pains.
"You must be happy now." V smiled in tears but Kyung couldn't reply.
"You are so not contended, you have a family already, a son who only wants his family to be together but what... you still wanted Simi, Zhao promised to father your child, he gave his word but now where's the child? Where's Zhao? And as well is Simi not your sister?" V mocked in tears
"Cry as long as you like, just remember that if you did not run with Simi, Zhao will still be alive and that baby you crave for will still be alive." V said trying to control his emotions and leaves.
Kyung watched him leave in tears, it was too late to wish for anything.
[3 days later]
Simi walked towards where Zhao was buried and sits there in tears.
She remembers how she met him, his smiles, the memories they shared together.
She cried wishing she never ran away with Kyung that day, she wished she had stayed, her Zhao will still be alive.
This is all her fault, she cried laying on his burial ground.
V walks towards her and squats, he touches her and she looks up in tears.
"Don't blame yourself, remember Zhao did not want you to blame yourself." V said softly
Simi cried and says, "I just realized something."
"What's that?"
"You will not know what you have until you lose them, I had everything and now my everything is gone. I will never meet anyone like Zhao not ever again, not in this world." Simi cried
"That's true, he's everyone dream man, to be honest, his type is scarce, there's no greater love than giving up your life for someone." V said
"What do I do? How do I live now? Cause I want to join him!" Simi cried
V comforted her, he had no idea what to say to her.
...
Sara rushes to the door and opens it, she sees Kyung who was crying badly. She knew everything that happened.
"Sara, he died because of me." Kyung cried and falls on his knees.
She grabs him into her arms and says, "don't blame yourself, everything happens for a reason. In the midst of our mistake, we can still make the right choices."
Kyung cried like a baby in her arms, Woobin rushes out of his room and shouts, "dad!"
Kyung looks at him, the boy jumps into his arms and wipes off the tears all over his face.
"Daddy, don't cry, let's move on and be happy." Woobin said and Kyung nodded in pains, he hugs his son and wife more tightly.
...
[5 years later]
Simi walks into the kitchen to make breakfast for her husband, V.
He helped her overcome her pains, he helped her move on, even though her womb was gone and she will never have a child in her life, he still married her.
Though, she was worried as he needed an heir but every time she brings it up, V always brushed it off. She had thought of adopting Klao but the boy was overseas studying as he was on the scholarship Zhao prepared for him. And Fred had just gotten married to a beautiful Chinese lady and that lady was no other than Yang.
She wondered how they met, she remembered V saying, Fred was in pains and Yang was also in pains which made them talk to each other when they met. They kind of slept with each other, dated and now married.
She hears a knock on the door and comes out of the kitchen, she sees V rushing to the door. She was about to go back to the kitchen but stops when she sees Diana walk in with her luggage and a kid was beside her.
"Diana?" Simi calls her name in shock, she had no idea Diana had a child neither did she tell her she was married.
"Hi, fellow wife." Diana smiled
"What do you mean by that?" Simi asked
"Well, V and I are married, and as you can see we have a son together and I am also three months pregnant." Simi looked at V who avoided to look at her.
"What's going on here?" She felt her heart shatter, did V go behind her to marry her best friend, how could he?
"I am here to take my place as the true wife of V who has made him a father." Diana smiled
"No... this is not true, hon, tell me it's not true." Simi said with tears in her eyes.
"I am sorry." V said trying not to look at her, he walks to his room in silence.
Simi couldn't believe her eyes and ears, she faced Diana in tears and asked, "how could you do this to me?"
"Hey barren woman, don't insult me, I met V before you, loved him before you, back then you had the perfect guy but you drove him to his death and V couldn't marry anyone except he marries you so I waited and then strike, took my man from you under your nose. V is mine and mine forever." Diana smiled
"You are my friend, how could you do this to me? I gave you everything!" Simi cried
"Shut your mouth, you gave me what? Those things? I also gave you the golden chances to be with the man perfect for you but you threw it away, and now you are trying to claim my man, the one I have swore to have, in your dreams." Diana said firmly
"Why would you betray me like this? Why did you do this to me?" Simi cried
"Barren woman, from now on, I am the woman of this house and you are my slave." Diana said firmly and walks to her husband room with her son.
Simi couldn't believe her ears, did she? Ahh! How could this happen to her, she screamed in tears and falls on the floor in pains.
